While the items I use to open my perk trees still work for me. I'm on 1.597. I've gotten a lot of comments lately from AE players they're not working for. If they're not working for you. You can use one of these two mods to open the perk tree.

The first option is more cool. But the second is good for people who want a simple mod that doesn't change your character menu. If you do use the first. I highly recommend this mod. Which gives it cool icons.

Edit: They should work now with version 3.0 of Custom skills framework.

I don´t know if it´s a bug or it´s intended to be this way but the skill tree is already accessible from the start when using custom skill menu.

You are a wizard. Master of forbidden secrets. Butcher of physics.
    You have been taken.
Abandon your thoughts. You will never understand this. The final secret will tell itself to you.
What logic do you obey? What theory guides your incisions?
You create terrible magic and you spawn new flesh. But you are frail. Behind all your furious power, behind your shields and your
legions of attendants, you know you might yet be stripped of your
    defenses and pinned to ruin.

You need to never be alone.
There is a knife for you. It is shaped like [call forth the numberless].
Take up the knife. Issue forth a horde. Take your new shape.
Ahhh yeah, Take Up the Knife and shape yourself into something new, something better, something that follows that eternal and irrefutable logic of the sword. Destroy all that you can destroy so that the winner may face eternity.

Fun mod, props for the idea. So... have you been inspired by the Taken? ^^

I've never heard of it until you commented! Sorry it sounds cool. This mod was inspired by the in game legends about Mankar Camoran.

And how he used the blade to cutaway parts of himself and reshape his nature. Making himself Dragonborn. Given that he was able to wear the amulet of Kings. I assume his commentaries are mostly true.

I love this. Fits perfectly with my new character that actually BECOMES the Dragonborn by getting the Razor. Just like Mankar Camoran. None of this 'you're the chosen one, you're the last dragonborn for... some reason'. Nah, my guy wasn't born with anything, he deliberately reshaped himself to fulfill the ancient prophecy and stop Alduin.

Gods: Refuse to send a dragonborn to save the world.

Your character: Fine! I'll do it myself!

Step 1: Read the Dragon Elder Scroll in Dawnguard, discover imminent need for a Dragonborn
Step 2: Soultrap Potema, study shape of her soul (she's a Septim so she counts)
      Step 3: Get the Razor
      Step 4: Profit

I had done a previous playthrough where I became the Dragonborn by unlocking an ancient bloodline with the Skeleton Key. Same reason, I don't like being mythically chosen for things.

Honestly Jenasto that's a really cool way to approach the main story.

Is it normal that the perk tree is at 100 when i open the custom skill menu and select your skill tree?

Edit: Just noticed the picture do have 100 next to Razor's edge in the skill tree. Why exactly is it 100? Just curious. :)

I have run into this problem:  I cannot initialize the first perk in the tree.  Of course that means I can access the tree and I have equipped the eponymous dagger.  And I have a perk point to spend to get the ball rolling.  I will also note that I use other custom skills to great effect.  But for some reason when I click on the base perk of the Mehrunes Razor Perk Tree nothing happens?  Thoughts?

ETA:  Okay, user anxiety, I suppose.  I started using the dagger to kill enemies and after a bit the first perk widget was activated.  So I suppose I am on my way.  And to the author, thanks for providing an unarmed path.

Why is it dragon themed? Mehrunes Dagon is just a rude prince, he isn't a dragon but it does make sense he'd reward you for killing people.

Mankar Camoran uses the Razor to carve himself into a dragonborn. It's why he was able to wear the amulet of kings. His commentarys describe him breathing fire and ascending to the dragon blood. It's a perk tree for the Razor not directly Dagon himself.

While i like the concept of this mod i can't make it work properly. The perk tree is showing but i cannot get xp from using the dagger.
I installed everything needed and currently on version 1.6.1170.

Not sure you got the idea using the dagger gives you xp. It doesn't currently use the level system. You just need to have the dagger equipped and spend vanilla perk points to unlock the perks.

Love this. You should consider making a tree for the Skeleton Key aswell, since lore says it can make its wielder "unlock" their potential.

Hey I think the mod is cool but for some reason I can't access the perk tree? Every time I try to it says "Cannot equip Item". I have the razor equipped and everything and even disable a artifact mod that I thought might be conflicting with it. I haven't done dragon rising yet but it doesn't say in the mod description that you have to complete that quest for it to work so I'm assuming its not that.

EDIT: NVM I missed the part where it says i need to spend a perk point, if im still having issues then I'll add another edit.

I've gotten a lot of comments from AE users who have had issues with the items I use to open my perk tree mods lately. Sorry about that. Try using one of these two mods to open the menu.

If you use the first I highly recommend using this one along side it. For cool icons :)

The second option is good. If you want a simple mod that doesn't change your character menu. Though its less cool.

Love the mod! It's always nice to see mods that reflect both lore and gameplay. One question though, is there anyway you can make a patch for Edmond's More Draconic Aspect - Become The Dragonborn?

Either way thank you so much :)

Ignore my original comment I use that mod. And made a patch for it. But the version I use isn't the most up to date version. If you're having compatibility issues after installing the patch.

Then sorry there must be a issue with my patch due to me not realizing the OG mod has been updated. I'll look into it.
