It doesn't work :( I tried to install the main file, then I also installed the optional files (which by the way don't explain what they are for) and still nothing, it doesn't work in any way, the children are still untouchable :/
I don't get it, why do so many people think killing children in a game is wrong? like they are just as important as people in real life, i'm catholic and the bible says "Thou shall not kill", so does that mean I can't play any game cause I killed someone? The dark brotherhood literally kills innocent bystanders soley because someone did a ritual to kill them, even worst, your the one that kills them, so does that mean all of us is sick in the head for doing this? Honestly, its sad that people think its sick to kill virtual children when almost any game you kill something.
Killing all the children is one of the best parts of the game. I won't kill Khajiits though, even if they are bandits. You have to draw the line somewhere :)
It's not illegal to make children killable in video games? What? In MGS V, you can kill the child soldiers (albeit the mission fails if you do, but still)?
It's not illegal to make children killable, it just means the game will get rated Adults Only which is terrible for sales since it can't be sold in stores or on console stores and Steam.
i don't think of needing to kill the children myself, or avoiding it either ... but if the game bear dragon diseased skeever can kill me then they should be killable and not magic cherubs is all i care ... i also like the hearth fire children grow up ...that on all in game children would be cool too ... people are strange i guess if you make pregnancy birth aging a part of it, it would go up like a chinese lotus of light firework for the 'ways things Some People would do with things... thing" ... wtvr... would still be cool ...killable and slayable are different though ... i like this one a little more this week i guess lol.... good mod
No, it's because they are highly empathic caring people. It's perfectly normal and healthy to have emotional reactions to stuff happening to fictional characters. It is painful for some to see children killed, virtual or not. If this weren't so, people wouldn't get as engaged with books and movies. Why should games be any different? Why do some people have to be so rude about it? And frankly, fiction can move the Overton window. No, Skyrim mods won't make you kill kids but art and story have long been used to change what is considered normal and acceptable. Don't act like fiction have zero effect on reality.
I have no desire to murder virtual kids but I'm ok with an optional mod that makes dragons and other monsters capable of doing so. In my game, I prefer to have them run and survive, but I don't have or judge people who download this mod.
I just hope this mod doesn't remove the child flag from their records. Combine that with adult mods and things get very gross and disturbing.
Yes, I know the post was from 2017. I just get so tired of seeing "it's just a game so it doesn't matter".
It's puritanical logic both that if you think something you've done it, and because laws that made a distinction between fiction and reality would have to be firmly against the rights of parents to abuse children, control their lives and deny them knowledge of basic facts like queer people existing. I'm glad you see this for the lie it is but you probably still apply this same logic to other acts in fiction.
We need a mod to give them a correctional slap. Also, you are the dragonborn, so it doesn't really matter if it is the jarl's son or whatever. Just slap the jarl as well, and the entire garrison if necessary.
It makes the game feel more realistic and idk why people are like. " if you do something in the game then you will do it in real life" I would not do it in real life. unless the child is like some one really bad like hitler.
@countsuccula ahh yess because I want to kill the bastard 5yo that called me a boot licker when I literally saved the world that means I want to see a child get r@ped you really are stupid aren't you
It's ridiculous when someone judges another person for the media they consume. Just because you love violent stories and games, doesn't mean you love violence in real life and in your relationships. I'm theistic satanist and while the rules of the bible do not bind me, my morality and self-interest do. I don't like violence because it hurts and it makes me and the people around me miserable. And I hate being miserable. I love engaging in violence in games and in speech, basically when it's harmless fun. We should trust ourselves and each other to know better than to think that violent fun begets violence in life.
@countsuccula The fact that your mind went to CP first when nothing was said to even relate to the topic says more about you than the OP that was talking about the morality of killing children vs adults in games. Yikes
there is a very fine line... of that statement... and its a statement that can go very bad Just Killing or murdering people is wrong... some sickass fucker will probably gundown someone due him/her/they because he/she/they thought Life was a game.. it isnt and its that moral and psychological code that makes Killing childen via games illegal due to consenquences of that. We won't know if a game or even a series will influence a person.. we dont know their psyche. If you want to make a game realistic then yea sure make a mod to kill children... I mean i just recently heard about a hit-and-run in my own state... and the reason was? FOR THE FUCKING FUN OF IT
actually the correct translation is "Thou shall not murder". The king james bible is faithfully translated but some words that weren't translated right can throw the context of the passage off by a considerable margin. Yes, you are correct though, it is a video game and not reality because human nature is way worse than things you can do in this game. The hypocrisy of modern people these days gets laid on pretty thick most of the time, and then they go about believing they're the best of people incapable of the bad that has been a part of human nature since time immemorial.
If I understand what the mod does, is it allows children to be killed by both npc's and the player. None of my player characters are ever going to kill any of the npc children on purpose. But, just knowing that a '..child..' in the game can die makes the game more engaging, at least to me.
If children exist in-game they should be able to die just like the adults in-game can. If children in games are invincible and can't be pickpocketed or killed, why put them in the game to start with. They are "Alive" just like the rest of the NPC's, so they should be able to die as well just like the others.
