This mod overhauls food items with varied and practical effects because I don't like how existing mods do stuff like "+50% Health Regen for 1620 seconds" and call it a day. Besides being boring, it doesn't fit the pacing of Skyrim as a game. I don't want to be healed 10 minutes from now- I want to be healed up in a dozen seconds or so.
In Healthy Appetiteā¢, the majority of foods restore Health in amounts competitive with stock healing potions (Your Plentifuls, Vigourouses, and Etc) over the course of a short duration. Generally, these durations are under 15 seconds.
Foods may also have a variety of buffs (and detriments!), including types not found in the vanilla game.
I've balanced the effects of food according to weight, how easy they are to acquire, the quantity of ingredients in their crafting recipe, Alchemy Ingredient Effects (From Skyrim and Prior Games), and even Lore. Generally, the more exotic an item is, the more powerful and distinctive its effects will be. Buffs are also balanced to be on par with the two foodstuffs in Vanilla that were actually decent. (Elswer Fondue and Venison Stew.)
And before you ask, YES! : Roleplaying your character as a vegetarian should still give you plenty of options for useful foods. In fact, any character of any diet may find themselves dining on a greater variety of foodstuffs than ever before!
Check the articles section for a complete list of food chages in the current version of the mod.
