A patch for JPSteel2's Whiterun Horse Statue - Horses Galore Mod which adds two alternate options in the Whiterun's market area for the main plinthed statue of Horses Galore. There is also an option which does not add any plinthed statue to the market place at all and still removes it from the City Gate entrance area.

BACKSTORY

When I first saw the Whiterun Horse Statue mod, I immediately knew that I wanted it for my game - It just made sense! I envisioned the city of Whiterun with my preferred overhaul, and this extra bit of culture and felt like it would all tie together perfectly. Of course, the main feature was the gorgeous plinthed statue centerpiece in the Plains District prominently on display as soon as you enter the city. I adored it - and of course had to get the Horses Galore pack adding even more of these statues throughout the city.  

The only issue I had was the placement of the statue at the city gates. It was too too close to the bridge for me, and the more I walked past it the more I thought there was some place else that could feature the plinthed statue better. 

After searching for patches which moved the statue or altered it in some way that I would like and not having any luck, I decided to learn how to mod Skyrim. Over the next few days I installed the Creation Kit, watched a lot of tutorials, and eventually managed to create a composition for the Whiterun Horse Statue - Horses Galore mod that I adored. 

I moved the main plinthed statue to the market where the well is in front of the Bannered Mare. I thought this spot was ideal for such a statue. A busy market, near shops and a bustling Inn named The Bannered Mare. It was perfect! Of course, putting the statue over the well meant I was locking myself out of any mods which utilise the well in any way - but that was a sacrifice I was prepared to make. To accommodate this new placement, I added another section to the plinth and also decided to put the Whiterun banners on all four sides of the plinth itself.

After I was happy with the new market placement, I felt as though the city gate was now looking quite sad without any horse statues so I decided to add a couple of the statues flanking the bridge as you enter the city from the main gate as well!

I went ahead and made some patches for mods that I personally use in my game as well which I will outline below.

After some great feedback, I have updated this patch to contain an alternate placement for the market statue as well as provided an option for no market statue at all. All three options will still add the two flanking statues on the bridge near the city gate. 


COMPATABILITY
As mentioned, I have provided a couple of patches for some staple mods that I use in my game and would absolutely recommend! The patches provided are for the following mods:

Lux Orbis - GGUNIT
Added Lux Orbis lighting for the braziers under the statues.
AI Overhaul SSE - mnikjom 
Moved a couple of NPC markers that were interfering, particular one "leaning" idle on the well which was causing NPCs to clip into the plinth of the statue.
JK's Skyrim - jkrojmal
Removed parts of the well additions in JK's Skyrim for the Whiterun market well.

NOTE: The Alternate Market Statue and No Market Statue options do not require patches for JK's Skyrim or AI Overhaul - I have checked these to confirm.

INCOMPATABILITY

Of course, any mods or overhauls that change the market area or city gate bridge of Whiterun may be incompatible.
Any mods adding or changing the Whiterun market well itself may also be incompatible for the Market Placement option - however the Alternate Market Statue or No Market Statue options should work.
Incompatible with any mods which use the Whiterun market well for any type of access. The Alternate Market Statue or No Market Statue options should be compatible with mods which use the well.
There may be other incompatibilities I am not yet aware of.

I have now added in the FOMOD installer an Alternate Market Placement option as well as a No Market Statue option for full use of this patch with other mods that utilise the well!

Whiterun Horse Statue - JPSteel2
You will need the "Whiterun Horse Statue - Horses Galore" main file

As the other main files move the statues around, I am unsure if this patch will work with the other main file options. I may look at providing these same patches for just the one statue down the track.

INSTALLATION
Install manually or with your preferred Mod Manager. Newly updated to a FOMOD installer after learning how make those :)

Their Northern Roads mod is a staple in my game, I absolutely love the additions it makes and interest it adds when exploring! I haven't Fast-travelled since installing it because I'm too excited to see the random little additions added on my journey.
