What is this?

Qwib just released a small but elegant mod, Scarves of Skyrim. The only thing lacking is NPC distribution. This mod adds that.

Two small, immersive fixes / adjustments are included as well.

What is included?

Here's a short list:

- Adds support for all vanilla Children & All mod-added children that use vanilla Child Races
- Using SPID + simple papyrus scripts, distributes scarves to NPCs in a conflict-free way (You can customize the _DISTR.ini file to fit your game. Everything is clearly annotated!)
- Using KID, adds a few vanilla keywords to the scarves (ClothingBody, VendorItemClothing etc.), so they can be correctly detected by the game and other mods (especially SKSE DLLs) that rely on these keywords

How to use?
Make sure you have all the requirements (and their requirements) installed.
  Then install my mod. Done.

WARNING!
If you are using any pre-1.6.1130 game runtime version, meaning, if you are still on any version in range [1.5.97-1.6.640, 1.6.659] (I do), you MUST have Nukem's Backported Extended ESL Support (BEES) installed. This is because Qwib's plugin has version header 1.71 (for 1.6.1130 only), and can only be read normally in pre-1130 versions if you have BEES.

FAILURE TO DO SO
WILL CTD YOUR GAME!

Install / Uninstall mid-game?

  Installing mid-game is perfectly fine.
If you want to uninstall, it is strongly recommended that you run your save through FallRim ReSaver, because this mod uses a few (extremely light-weight) Papyrus scripts.

Customize?

Of course! Just edit the SPID file (the one that ends in _DISTR.ini) to your liking. This assumes you are familiar with SPID syntax. (You can go to the modpage of SPID, or open other SPID files, for examples).

While I have configured the distribution patterns in a very lore-friendly way, such that this is plug-and-play, you may still want to have a look at the SPID file before booting up your game, especially if you are a heavy DIY'er.

Compatibility?

  Should be compatible with EVERYTHING.

If you have my other Scarves SPID mod, (SPID) Scarves and Mufflers for NPCs - Keeping Warm, don't worry, I have included built-in compatibility (thanks to SPID), so if you are using both mods, an NPC will receive scarves from at most one mod, never two.

Known Issues?

- NPCs will still wear scarves even when indoors and/or the season changes. A patch is in the making for those of you who use Seasons of Skyrim SKSE; NPCs will take off / put on their scarves depending on the season and/or whether they are indoors.

CREDITS

- Qwib: For the original mod & permissions to go ahead with this mod.
- PowerOfThree: For SPID, KID & Seasons of Skyrim.
- BecomingNPlus1: For the "Detailed NPCs" series, which was the inspiration for my SPID mods & showed me how to allow single pieces of clothing to be added to NPCs.
