I gotta admit, out of all the new land mods, I've been loving this the most, especially the bosses where instead of just a reskinned enemy, its a enemy made out of objects that actually has a PATTERN of attack instead of 'X chance of using this attack while shuffling on place awkwardly', it also made me think how to beat them instead of brute forcing my way through the fight aka use highest damage attack.
EDIT: just beat the mod and apparently uninstalling is not an option or else corrupt my save... Any suggestions on how I can safely remove this?
I’m seeing VERY mixed reviews and am interested in playing it. Downloaded (along with SE patch) and installed, didn’t work at all. Got no messages I’m tired, still tried sleeping. Didn’t work.
I made sure plugins were all enabled and everything. Anybody else having this issue?
I love how there is ABSOLUTELY NO GOD DAMN WARNING THAT IF YOU TALK TO THE MAGICAL ENTITY YOU WILL EFFECTIVELY DISABLE THIS QUEST FOREVER AND WILL HAVE TO RELOAD.
Thank you, mod authors, for not f*cking making that clear from the beginning. I had no way of knowing this. I didn't even realize that dream-space WAS Krein. There were zero indications that it was. I wanted to go into this without any outside assistance, learn how this whole thing works on my own, and in one fell swoop, I have just ruined my playthrough.
After I talked to the entity and RUINED THE QUEST PERMANENTLY, I then went on, blissfully unaware of what I had just done, for another EIGHT HOURS of gameplay.
I WILL NOT sacrifice the progress I made in other difficult quests (to include almost HALF of the dragonborn DLC main quest), just to go back and do this all over again. Why would you even PUT that in there, only for there to be NO WAY to go back and do it over again besides starting from a previous save??? What possessed you to do such a thing???? I am entirely baffled. I REALLY wanted to like this mod after all the recommendations that I got from friends, and now I can't, simply because of this one entirely foolish decision on the part of the mod authors.
Well when your 8 hours of life time are about to be wasted in order to be able to play this quest mod just because mod author did some twisted shat in development, ofc you would be pissed
Oh, so thats what happened.... I was wondering how to start this mod, unknowingly ending the quest... Darn..... Im already lvl 46.... Not restarting for this...
this mod is amazing, Thanks to the author for their great work and dedication May I know the latest expansion pack2 for 2025 Does it include all previous files? Just download this?
ebxoleras What exactly is meant by "not compatible with the mod that adds armor categories" ? Do you mean, for example, mods that add slots for cloaks, backpacks, or lanterns?
While it's clear the mod authors wanted to showcase the mechanics they've implemented, this unfortunately came at the expense of the engines limitations as well as the story and world building the authors crafted at the start. The amount of bosses and puzzling forced at after leaving Silvermourne ruined the mod, and after reaching Cinderholm I was fed up and uninstalled
Krein is at its strongest when it focuses on the dialogue and the world it builds. Silvermourne Valley stood out as the mod's highlight, functioning as a quest hub, you could explore backstories of the NPCs this mod adds and your companions, making the world feel alive. However, once you leave Silvermourne the mod's strong points diminish. The experience becomes far more linear, forcing you through a series of on-rail set pieces across Tamriel, which clashes with the open-world feel initially established. You will be forced into boss fight after boss fight where you don't really engage with the enemy just walk around the map and solve puzzles whilst losing 90% of your hp in 1 attack forcing you to cheat half the time.
Witchcraft Crater was the next attempt of a quest hub which failed miserably as the number of side quests was nonexistent and a lot of the build up was just plain awful as it only existed as an exposition dump for Szolus to force you into continuing towards the Temple of Scripts as part of the main quest line. Half of this section of the story is filled with fighting tedious and boring bosses which could do with being removed in favor of fleshing out Witchcraft Crater instead.
In conclusion, Krein ultimately feels like a missed opportunity of being a great mod. While it excels in dialogue and world-building during its early stages, the mod gradually loses its charm as it shifts towards linear, puzzle-heavy gameplay. The over-reliance on boss fights and puzzle mechanics detracts from the immersive storytelling that made the initial sections so captivating. Removing a good chunk of the mod would honestly improve it. I'd also rather have Elsweyr be open world over the Crater as well.
If you've noticed by the way, the first half of the game is significantly better than the rest in terms of puzzles. The people working on the mod are rebuilding it from the ground up section at a time.
Great mod with good replayability (thanks to the branching alternative paths in some quests and in the choices you make which somewhat alters the ending

Who lives who dies
I played it twice, there are some great tips in the other pages, i can only give two new (maybe i was just unlucky with these bugs)
1. Avoid the secret chamber in one of the old storehouse in silvermourne city (aldrvund) , after defeating the dragon priest and leaving the cell the saving features remains unusable indefinetly.(most likely permanently) 2. Its just a small thing but if you have more than one small invisibility potion in you inventory, during the quest called "The Lost Branch" the dialogue option to bribe the jailor will not appear, remove the surplus inv. potions and the dialogue option should pop up. (have the gold too)
(3.Have a weapon with high damage output otherwise the final boss will outregenerate you

not sure if its intentional but for some reason when his meteorit/exploding-swords damaged it (while using the protective layer) i lost health and he regenerated a big chunk of its health back
(Maybe these will be patched in the future so check the logs in new versions)

First mistake was the glowy orb; thankfully I realized my mistake and reloaded
Second; explore the region within, but finding no quests after 2 hours, and getting nowhere
GG - wasted 2 hours of my life. You win this round, no endorsement from me.
I will wait for that to install and play it,
Thank you very much for your effort!
