About this mod

This mod allows you kill Eola and report her Namira cult to the Markarth guards. Reporting the cult will cause the surviving members, Hogni Red-Arm, Lisbet, and Banning, to become hostile! You will then be able to fully explore Reachcliff Cave and acquire Namira's Ring even if you kill Eola early. You can also buy Vigilance from Cedran.

Version 2.00
- Removed direct edits from Eola, Sanyon, and Nimphaneth. This should increase compatibility with other mods, such as appearance replacers.
- Added scripts via quest alises to remove Eola, Sanyon, and Nimphaneth from Thieves Guild No Pickpocketing Faction, OnInit.
- Removed protected flag from Eola's Scorn that spawns in Namira's sanctum after turning in the journal.
- Eola's Scorn, Sanyon's Hatred, and Nimphaneth's Rage will now use their respective original's facegen. Had to remove unique flag from Sanyon's Hatred and Nimphaneth's Rage because their original actorbase didn't have it.
- Added script to Eola's Scorn to drop the Ring of Namira since using the original Eola's traits as a template actorbase for facegen prevented using deathitem.
- No longer adding the original, non-ghost versions of Sanyon and Nimphaneth to DraugrAllyFaction. It's okay if they die to Draugr since Eola's actions imply they were hostile.
- Also no longer adding the ghost versions, Eola's Scorn, Sanyon's Hatred, and Nimphaneth's Rage, to the DraugrAllyFaction.
- Eola's direct edit deathitem that caused her to drop her journal on death has been replaced with a script via quest alias OnDying event that will add the journal to her inventory. This will prevent load order issues that would've caused her to not drop her journal. Also allows compatibility with appearance replacers. The script will also prevent her from dropping the journal more than once should she be raised as a zombie after death.
- Changed the check to ensure that a second, duplicate Ring of Namira doesn't exist if Eola dies after you've already followed through with her grim offer.
- After dismissing Vigilance, Cedran will now allow you to retrieve Vigilance without paying again. This fixes inconsistencies with other mods such as Vigilance Unbound that allowed you to retrieve Vigilance without paying again, but also with follower framework mods like Nether's Follower Framework which was letting you continuously give Cedran gold even while Vigilance was following you.
- If you're playing without a follower framework mod like Nether's Follower Framework, Banning's untouched scripts will still normally demand gold to retrieve Vigilance again. I'm chalking that up to the fact that Banning is considerably less honorable than Cedran given Banning's... questionable proclivities.
- Optimized several function calls by calling primary functions like SetActorValue, GetActorReference, or GetReference instead of abbreviated functions like setAV, GetActorRef, or GetRef that are basically just empty wrapper functions that call the other functions.
- Added checks for null references on the chance any npcs or objects were deleted prior to turning in the journal.
- Changed log entry "I found Eola's journal. I should take it to the city guards." to "I found Eola's journal. I could take it to the city guards."
- Removed placed reference edit from Cedran, potentially reducing conflict with other mods.
- Removed placed reference edits from the Voice of Namira and the door blocking the path to Namira's sanctum so they aren't forced to be persistent. Disabled marker 000DE153, the blocking door's enable parent in Reachcliff Cave, via Papyrus script after the journal is turned in.
Version 1.05
- Cedran can now sell Vigilance! Cedran will sell the dog both alongside Banning or while Banning is dead. I noticed that follower frameworks, specifically Nether's Follower Framework in this case, will allow you to give Cedran or Banning gold while already owning Vigilance. Technically an issue with follower frameworks. In an unmodded game, you won't have the option to give them gold for no reason.
Version 1.04
- Turning in the journal will now set relationship ranks with Hogni Red-Arm, Lisbet, and Banning to -3, enemy, to avoid them liking you too much after completing radiant quests for them to attack you.
Version 1.03
- Added boss reference to Eola's Scorn. Reachcliff Cave will now be set to cleared upon the spirit's defeat.
- Changed Eola's Scorn inventory to contain an actual enchanted ebony sword instead of a daedric sword leveled list because it wasn't giving her a melee weapon at lower levels. Also changed from daedric to enchanted ebony bow.
- Changed Nimphaneth's Rage combat style from csForswornBossMelee to DEFAULT because she didn't like using her sword.
- Vigilance was being a bad dog and was stuck hostile in combat because ironically he's incredibly loyal to Banning and wouldn't die in protected or essential status. Killing him in protected gave the player a bounty, so turning in the journal will now remove Banning from factions JobAnimalTrainerFaction, Favor001QuestGiverFaction, MarkarthStablesFaction, TownMarkarthFaction. This should mean that Vigilance is no longer undyingly loyal to Banning which also ironically makes him a bad dog! You really can't win.
- When the journal is turned in, Lisbet will be removed from factions MS02VictimsFaction, MarkarthArnleifandSonsFaction, ServicesMarkarthArnleifandSons, TownMarkarthFaction to prevent against any Banning-like behaviors.
- Also when the journal is turned in, Hogni Red-Arm will be removed from factions JobStreetVendorFaction, MS02VictimsFaction, JobMerchantFaction, TownMarkarthFaction.
- Imedhnain would sometimes refuse to sell to you after taking over Lisbet's shop because his relationship would become negative towards you. Basically a Banning-like situation except caused by relationships instead of factions. Turning in the journal now causes Lisbet's relationships with Imedhnain, Cosnach, and Thonar Silver-Blood to become -2, foe. Imedhnain actually joined the fight against Lisbet!
- Also when the journal is turned in, Banning's relationship with Voada will be set to -2, foe.
- Edited some internal ID names which might break compatibility if you try to update from a previous version. Recommend not updating from a previous version to 1.03+ without starting a new game. This was done both for clarity and to reduce possible conflict with other mods if scope would not have prevented it.

- Added 'Allow Reserved' flag to Brother Verulus and Hogni Red-Arm references. This should make it possible to add this mod in an existing save.

Description
This mod causes Eola to drop her journal on death which contains the names of the other Namira cult members: Lisbet, Banning, Hogni Red-Arm, Sanyon, and Nimphaneth. You have the option to take her journal to the Markarth guards, or simply drop or sell it to 'fail' the quest. If you drop or sell it, you can simply grab it to have the option of taking it to the Markarth guards again. If you take the journal to the guards, Lisbet, Banning, and Hogni Red-Arm will become hostile!

Reachcliff Cave will also have its entrances unblocked so you can reach the end of the dungeon and use the side entrance.

Furthermore, turning in the journal will cause Sanyon and Nimphaneth to spawn inside Reachcliff Cave so you can finish the remaining cult members.

To gain Namira's Ring you must travel into Reachcliff Cave and defeat Eola's spirit. If you've progressed the quest in such a way that you've already gained the ring, Eola's spirit will not drop it. Finally, if you've already killed Sanyon or Nimphaneth, their spirits will also join Eola's against you.

Cedran now also has the ability to sell the dog, Vigilance, to you either alongside Banning or after Banning has died.
Side Note

It seems like the guards dealing with some of the Forsworn and Cidna mines related events, such as Weylin's attack, will be too busy to bother with the journal. You'll need to find another guard that isn't preoccupied!

I never liked how the daedric quest 'A Taste of Death' was handled, and my dislike is further improved because I need the ring or its replica for Legacy of the Dragonborn!

There's already existing Legacy of the Dragonborn support for the mod Namira for Good Guys; however, you will still have no way of acquiring the ring if you decide to kill Eola immediately upon meeting her.
Installation
Move the contents of the data folder inside Smite the Wicked - Eola's Namira Cult.zip into the data folder located directly within Skyrim's main folder.
Compatibility

Should be compatible with most existing mods since the primary quest 'The Taste of Death' was not modified.

Seems to be compatible with Interesting NPCs as well without requiring a patch. When I checked in on Lisbet, Slyphiron from Interesting NPCs also decided to attack me.
Credits
I removed some unintended edits, generated the SEQ file, pulled the file version back to 1.7, and added the ESL flag to make it an ESPFE using SSEEdit. Check it out at:
