About this mod
A natural rocky wall (is it called an outcropping?) captured by photogrammetry. Hipoly version with a 16k texture, lowpoly version with 8k textures. Useful for adding new rocks into the game or for adding detail to existing textures.

Update: Due to nice comments I made a cleaned lowpoly variant. I removed most of the grass and flowers in the hipoly mesh, remeshed, cleaned it up by hand and baked new textures. This should be the better variant for almost everyone, unless you want to make your own lowpoly mesh, in which case you should use hipoly as a base. I also split the UV islands between the different rock types, so if you just want the texture I recommend this variant.
Description:
A realistic 3D asset made using photogrammetry. The wall is less than 1m high and over 4m long. Before use the grass around should be removed as it is not captured well. The wall is not homogeneous - there are stone bricks, large stones and a rock face.
Textures were not edited, so there might be some influence of irl light. It was overcast so it shouldn't be that bad, just free ambient occlusion.
File info:
Hipoly: 5.5 million tris, 16k diffuse (sRGB) texture.
Lowpoly: 1086 tris, 8k diffuse (sRGB), normal (non-color) and height (non-color) textures.
Lowpoly cleaned: 1786 tris, 8k diffuse (sRGB), normal (non-color) and height (non-color) textures.
Enjoy!
File formats:
The meshes are in .obj file format. I use Blender to edit the meshes, so I can export it to other formats too if
there is demand. I upload .obj because I think it is simple and usable
in any program. The textures are in .png file format, either 8bit RGB(A)
or 16bit floating point BW for heightmaps. I use .png because it is a
lossless format and all programs support it. You are probably going to
downscale the textures and play with colors to make them fit better in
your mod/game. I didn't use a Skyrim specific format such as BC7 dds, as
they are real pain to work with for me. Though if you have good
reasoning, I can switch to another format.
To make my assets I use a phone camera, Darktable, Meshroom, Blender and GIMP.
Why it is here:
I needed a community space to put my stuff and I mod Skyrim a lot, and I
like how Nexus works. I also mostly make stuff that would fit in Skyrim
like nature, walls and sidewalks. I would love to see my assets in game,
but just making them is enough work and I think other people can use
them in more meaningful ways than I would come up with.
