Massive NPC Facelift Project aims to alter most of the NPCs' appearances throughout the land of Skyrim. Such as Followers, Marriage Candidates, Essentials, Beast Races, Elves, Orcs, Miners, Civil War Leaders, Jarls, Farmers, Guild Members, Wizards, ect.  NPCs are altered based on numerous factors like backstory, status, voice, and morphology. My aim is to be Vanilla Friendly, while  drastically changing the NPCs to look more naturally attractive without the need to apply anime or makeup like characteristics (aesthetics, anime hairstyles, etc.) In my opinion, I feel like such aesthetics ruin the overall feel of the game; this mod aims to make the NPCs looks originally part of game. This is my own artistic interpretation of the characters.

FEATURES

  • Alters NPCs facial morphology and clothing in about 500 NPCs
  • It removes some of the awkward and exaggerated skin tones, and facial structures of the Vanilla versions. Re-textures NPC's skin tone, makeup, wrinkles, scars, and dirt to look more natural
  • Some NPC's have been altered and fixed to fit better with the mythos or backstory. For ex. Ysgramor looks more like the statue. Olaf One-Eye is different from his Draugr Counterpart (Different armor and hairstyle) All Stormcloak Jarls wear proper Jarl clothing, ect.
  • Sovngarde adds Nordic Heroes and characters from Lore, current, and previous Elder Scrolls games.

What exactly does this mod change?

Rather than listing every NPC that was changed, you have to believe me that nearly 500 or more have been redesigned in Skyrim. Such as Followers, Marriage Candidates, Essentials, Civil War Leaders, Jarls, Farmers, Guild Members, Wizards, ect.

I am a fan of the Elder Scrolls Lore and this mod makes some characters fit more to the lore and setting of Skyrim.

There are some faces that might not be to your liking. But remember this is my own interpretation of the characters. And being that there are more than 500 NPCs that were altered, you don't expect to appease everyone's certain taste;l try to keep it diverse... you know? So in short, I saw it and I tried to fix it the best of my ability.  I do not do requests for I simply do not have the time these days. But this is a project that I want to share with you, so it is for your own personal use and you can freely do what you please. If you do want to help me out on certain matters to make this mod work better. Please kindly message and and share it with the NEXUS community :D

FAQ
Q: Does this work with Special Edition
As long as any mod doens't use SKEU coding, it should be fine. This just alters the morphology of the faces using vanilla resources. Which should lessen any conflicts.

Q: Why are NPCs frozen?
Should fix and update your FNIS, that usually remedies all T animation issues.

Q: A lot of NPCs appear to be pale.
A: If you are using another mod that changes the NPCs in any way those NPCs will be overwritten to their original look. It is highly recommended to load this last to avoid this issue.

Q: A lot of NPCs  don't have that cool armor in that screenshot...what gives?
A: I did alter some NPC's clothing but using only Vanilla Based Assets. These mods replace the clothing and armors for NPCs, such as WARZONES 2015.2 - Civil Unrest and Immersive Armors

Q: I experience CTDs when I installed this.
A: This is a massive mod, so make sure your PC can handle it. Or try uninstalling other mods to find the incompatibility. If you are experiencing major lags or eternal loading screens then I would suggest to get  ENBoost 5_0 and SSME - Skyrim Startup Memory Editor
for these might help with your problem. Or it could be that you are missing a required mod. But this mod does NOT require any mods.

Q: I really like some of your NPCs but I dislike some of the looks you have chosen for other NPCs.
A: “Beauty itself is but the sensible image of the infinite," I made this mod for my own personal taste, everyone has their own interpretation of aesthetic beauty. Also it is rather difficult to make everyone attractive and keep it diverse. So I’m sorry you dislike some of the NPCs but I am not going to change them.

Q: Is this mod compatible with Ethereal Elven Overhaol (EEO)?
A: Since both mods are changing elf NPCs they will directly conflict. Depending on the load order one mod will overwrite the other. But I am currently making it compatible at the moment.

Q: How is this mod any different to IoS (Inhabitants of Skyrim)?
A: In a lot of ways, both mods modify NPCs to be more attractive. IoS tries to keep the "essence" of the NPC's vanilla look, with the option of adding the Apachi Hair option. This mod however, tries to change some NPCs completely but keeps it Vanilla Friendly hair. When it comes down to it, it is more to your personal preference.

Q: Are you going to implement Apachi Hairstyles and EEO?
A: Despite me loving Apachi Hairstyles for my own characters, marriage candidates or followers, I feel like it should not be applied to every NPC, as some hairstyles make NPCs look like glamorous supermodels rather than believable characters. Which destroys the purpose of having a vanilla and lore friendly mod. Like how can a old farmer have some kind of anime like hair? Also it doesn't work well with NPCs who wear helmets (baldness issue). EEO is on the works however.

Q: I thought this only changes NPCs not adding new ones...what NPCs were added?
A: Well like I mentioned above, small improvements to make the NPCs consistent with the story-line or Lore. But. this in turn made me add new NPCs in the game but only in Sovngarde. For Ex.You the player will discover a Dead Corpse in the Imperial Fort, Ralof will say, "We will meet again in Sovngarde, brother." But he is no where to be found. Also,  Lilija Snow-Shod was mentioned to be killed in the Civil War but was never shown in Sovngarde. I want you to discover what is hidden in Sovngarde, nord characters you probably met in previous titles, but wondered why they are not there.

Q: This mod is not lore-friendly and I don’t like it.
A: I'm sorry to hear about that. :C But everyone is entitled to their own opinion. It is rather difficult to fit to everyone's taste.
