Version 2.0 is here! This is a complete rebuild from scratch and makes some big changes. Because these changes are so big, the previous Version 1.4 will remain available for those who prefer it.
The biggest change is that the number of portals has gone from 6 pairs of 12 portals, to infinite. You can now create as many portals as you can afford. This obviously affects the balance quite a bit, so by popular demand I have also added a filled Soul Gem cost that scales with your Conjuration level. You start out needing Grand/Black soul gems, and can gradually use smaller and smaller ones as your skill increases. The exact levels are adjustable in the new MCM. There is also an option to no longer require soul gems at a certain skill level. By default it's set out of reach at level 200, but the option is there for those of you who want to use it.
The second biggest change is how portals are created. The main page has been updated with details on the new process, but I'll talk about it here. Because of the new soul gem cost, you know create a "portal marker" first that costs nothing but magicka. This allows you to move it around until you are happy with the location. Then interact with it to create a portal at the cost of a soul gem. You will get a Liminal Portal Stone in your inventory that can be activated at any time to create the second portal. Because there is no longer a unique spell for each portal, the portals are now tracked by the stone which remembers the portal that created it. This also means you can't easily teleport out of jail, as your portal stones will be confiscated (you could put a portal in the jail cell in advance if you want to be prepared).
However, since it appears that several people like having a portal available to take them home at a moment's notice, there is now an additional spell to move portals. You can have one marked portal, that can be summoned to you at any time. This spell is an expert level spell, so you won't have access to it right away.

I would also love to have some images and videos of the mod in action. It's very motivating to see people enjoying my work, so please feel free to submit your screenshots and videos to the mod page.
I LOVE this mod. I use it in almost all of my playthroughs- my one complaint was that I wanted more pairs to use, and now you've done it!!! THANK YOU!!!
I want to use this mod to create a "portal room" that contains portals to all the major cities. Top that off with a spell that teleports me to the portal room and I will have a nice little portal network going on. :)
This is really an incredible mod, and makes the wizard enjoyer in me very happy. I have a question. What is the best way to use multiple portals to teleport to the same location? Thanks.
Since the portals are designed to work in pairs, the only real option is to have multiple portals at one location. If you want a portal at Whiterun to go to your house, and a portal at the College of Winterhold to go to your house, you need two portals in your house for that to work.
Would be cool to have a MCM option to reverse actions on Portals:Open spell. By that I mean, casting when standing would reveal hidden portal, but casting with croaching will open new one (now it is vise versa). The reason is that you usually reveal portals way more often that open new ones, once you set up your portal network, usually you don't really create new ones that often.
That is a good point. I thought I had added MCM options for all the controls but I didn't consider that one. I will keep that in mind for the next update.
A thousand times endorse! This mod takes a while to get used to, but once you do, it is hands down the best and most functional and immersive teleportation mod I've ever seen and I've tried plenty.
I set Myrwatch Tower as my teleport hub, and set up chains of portals from there to all POI in Skyrim, e.g. if I want to get to Riften from wherever I am, I use dimension door from ordinator to teleport to Myrwatch, then I use portals from this mod to hop Myrwatch => Bloodchill Cave => Windhelm => Shor Stone => Riften home. This allows me to use teleport in lore-friendly and immersive way, being just as convenient as fast travel, but still limited and immersive.
It would be cool if there was an option to require soul gems for portal traversal (now it requires soul gems only on portal creation). Thank you for this mod! 10/10
Really appreciate the praise! This sort of chained portal system you have set up is exactly how I imagined it when I was creating it, even though I mostly just use a portal hub in my own saves for convenience.
I will see if I can add an option to cost soul gems when teleporting. I haven't worked on this mod for a while, so I can't give any promises on when I'll start on an update.
It does not, used a more subtle teleport visual that just distorts the screen a bit when you teleport. You could easily change the teleport FX in the creation kit if you wanted to though.
Well this will be a life saver in my survival games. Im curious what will happen if I make a portal hub in a city cause I have an ai change mod. If they use it I may have to be careful not to add rival areas together lol
They aren't supposed to use it, but in Version 1 when the portals were door objects they would occasionally. Now in Version 2 they are Activator objects, I don't know if NPCs will use them now or not (you can order your followers to use them if you wish).
