    <-------- Update 2022-09-27 -------->

Added new functionality to "Lite" Organic Factions. This is going to add a TON of flexibility when creating new groups! Expect an update to the Organic Factions Extension soon!

Speaking of which, v1.4 of the Organic Factions framework is incompatible with v1.7 of the Organic Factions Extension. Please use the next version of Organic Factions Extension when it becomes available. See the main mod description for additional details.

    Updated documentation.

For info on Organic Factions "Lite", along with an example mod, check out the accompanying video:

      Actually, I need your help.

This is one of the most frequently asked questions, and one that I've answered repeatedly over the last 4 years.

I very clearly outline the compatibility stuff on the main Description page, I have probably 100+ posts in here where I answer "yes" to this exact inquiry, and this mod is part of several packs / compiled lists which include Requiem and a whole bunch of other stuff.

I need help understanding why users just keep asking these same questions, instead of reading any of the hundreds of other places where I've already given the answer.

It's doubly important because, if I just ignore the question, then other users might start to worry -- "He didn't answer? Is it not compatible?" and this whole cascade starts from there. Then I have to answer half-a-dozen questions that all splinter off of the original post.

I promise I'm not being sarcastic or anything, I legit want to understand where the disconnect is.

      bad english ahead:
i dont think im the right person but okay, its because of the custom perks and the requiem stats of the npcs, if this program generates npcs with vanilla stats is what im asking, i will try this SSE Organic Factions Extension with requiem 4.0.2 se loverslab ported and write what happens in my new playthrough

A quick [Google search] can probably direct you to the answer to your specific question. About 4 years ago, folks were talking about using ASIS to help with equipment replacement. There are several discussions around Perks and all that within this mod page and through the Requiem pages and Reddit.

My 2c as a perpetual requiem user. (best to read all the points as though theyre a sequence, not just individual points).

      1) requiem is a widely used mod that overhauls the whole game, including encounters, perks, game settings, leveled npcs and npc levels, individual npcs, ai, and has hundreds of its own scripts.

      2) this mod seems like it likely hooks in to many of the same things as requiem.

      3) there's nothing explicitly saying Requiem is compatible. If a mod that touches some of the least known most complex features, same as requiem does, doesnt explicitly state if (and how, ie what steps to be taken) there are to make it compatible, i assume its not compatible.

      4) my go-to for requiem compatibility with something that seems to have a lot of requiem overlap in terms of game-parts is the mod description. While for eg a quest or city mod, im more likely to comb the posts/req subreddit because its more likely compatible with a quick conflict patch or out of the box, stuff like this seems to have huge overlap and high chance of incompatibility.

      5) its not about *actual* incompatibility as far as your question goes, its the perception of likely incompatibility that caused me to second guess (and came to search here).

Which raises the question: if hundreds of people have asked, and at least one person who frequents requiem discord + subreddit (me) didnt know it was compatible despite that, why isnt the compatibility listed, explicitly, with as much detail as needed, in the description? Also a genuine question.

E: also, the first req subreddit post i found mentions that this mod requires manual patching w requiem to give requiem perks to its npcs, in which case its compatible, but potentially w a good deal of effort. Is manual patching required to assign vanilla perks to npcs like requiem does, along with requiems own perks (also like requiem does)?

I just tried a google search, searching the requiem subreddit, and the requiem discord, and none of the results i could find suggest theres out of the box compatibility, and found almost no clues as to how the mods work together except the subreddit post i mention above. Ill take a look through this mod's posts then .

im back lmao, yeah from my last playthrough  from 2021 it seems that npcs needs the requiem perks, dont know how to do it with asis so i dont know, found a bandit leader with full orcish armor but died with few hits compared to normal requiem it shoulda killed me because i was in early game

theres nothin in the description to indicate compatibility. the compatibility section just mentions a single mod. maybe that helps OP?

but yes, seems this needs a patch, or enemies will be too weak. shame!

There are a few mods that you need to make this compatible with, the first is actually a group of mods called Kingdom of by Axis1211 which adds more towns to each of the holds that are each ruled by different Thanes of those holds and the second is Conquest of Skyrim which lets the player make their own faction and fight for control of Skyrim, optionally Second Great War compatibility would be good too so when the Thalmor invade they can do things independently

Sorry if misunderstanding but how do we use extensions if it requires this as a master but they aren't compatible? Thanks!

This is the Framework mod, which contains the base Objects and one demo faction. I think you're thinking of the SSE Organic Factions Extension, which is the mod which uses the Framework to build all kinds of stuff. That is definitely still under development.

You actually don't want Frameworks to change often at all, since that can disrupt things that are built on top of it. Changes should be only when necessary, non-disruptive, and thoroughly tested.

So this basic works for me, but if I install OF Extension, it crashes when trying to update its stuff (when you see an update in upper left corner). Even with patches. Two questions here:
    1) Any idea why?
    2) With this mod alone (and the framework) does it do anything? There is no MCM.

*Edit: Apparently, the OFE - Coin.esp patch is the one causing the crash (I obviously have COIN installed).

      Howdy!

Yep, the COIN patch incompatibility was just brought to my attention a few days ago! Glad you were able to identify the conflict and resolve it.

This is a good mod but there is no way to check if its working right unless you wait for a notification, I have not seen a notification in days despite being all over Skyrim and I have no clue if this mod just stopped working after finishing the first few quest in the main questline or not.

You can play the mod safely by trying Living Skyrim 4, it comes with organic factions and stuff with patches to make everything work together.
