Is it possible to maintain a chance of failure to look in someone's pockets even after you've unlocked the ability to look in them? Even when you have the ability to open someone's pockets, you are still rather unskilled and could still fail. The chance to fail would decrease as you become more skilled.
I think there is a slight incompatibility with Immersive Interactions. With immersive interaction's pickpocket anims turned on with this mod installed, the pickpocket inventory would still open up despite failing. Simply disabling the animations from immersive interactions solved it.
Thanks for the report! It sounds like both mods hook the pickpocket interaction in the same way. I'll move this to the bug report tab and take a look at it to see if a patch is doable.
Yeah a patch is needed, but it's trivial. Would it be ok if I just removed the need for getting trained for pickpocket and let the requirements in my mod suffice? That's the easiest and most compatible change. Trying to blend them together would be a lot more difficult. btw I've thought about using Apprentice myself, I really like the concept. I really like what mrowrpurr does and her youtubes are great.
Yeah letting your mod get precedence is the best way to make the patch imo, when using your mod you are already training pickpocket in a way. I've been using apprentice for a while and is a nice underappreciated mod that deserves more love. And thanks a ton for the patch! :)
Wow what an awesome mod! Got it set up and it works perfectly right out of the bat - the MCM options are solid too.
I'd love to see a minor expansion of this - continue to award a little pickpocket experience when "peeking" someone's pockets, without taking anything. It would be a great way to continue to get a some pickpocket exp (obviously less than actually taking an item), and is pretty reasonable. And a great way to train a bit without save-scumming!
After all, sometimes you might not find anything worth taking! Or decide that 60% chance to steal a gold ring.... isn't worth it.
I like that idea! Currently the perk acts as an activator replacer so that once the conditions are met the perk is no longer in effect. So I'd either have to change that or add a second perk to be in effect once the pickpocket container is available. Let me give it some thought.
Seems to have an incopatibility with Skyrim Souls (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/27859). Even though it throws the appropriate messages and pop-ups the inventory is not prevented from opening.
I use Skyrim Souls and didn't see that behavior when I did my testing. Are you using just the main download or one of the optional downloads? Who are you trying to peekpocket? I'd like to reproduce it.
I’m using only the main one. It’s also loaded after SS. Tried to pickpocket about everyone in Riften, and I could. I do get the notifications from this mod.
I tried to duplicate this problem but I can't. I'm using Skyrim Souls, and I tried reinstalling Skyrim Souls back to its default state but that made no difference. I also tried pickpocketing NPCs in Riften but couldn't. As a quick test could you disable Skyrim Souls and see if that fixes it? Of course this is just for a quick test. Also try disabling Peekpocket in the MCM and then re-enabling it.
@Glanzer Hi, how does your mod interact with this mod : Pickpocket Everyone - Steal from Any Creature (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/38702) ?

Maybe as an MCM add?
EDIT: Be sure you're using the fixed version of Skyrim Souls not the old one.
never playing without this again x) thank you so much
