About this mod

Allows the player to wear whatever the heck they want for Warden of the Coast's romance quests, as long as it has ClothingRich keyword. Also overhauls the romantic outfits used by companions using Apachii Divine Elegance assets.

October 17th, '23: I'm a fecking idiot. Missed a couple of dialogues that still reference the old romantic outfit. Only update if you're planning on romancing Jade AND taking her to the dinner date. Otherwise, you don't need to.

Don't know what else to say. Brief overview already summed it up.

Threw this quick little patch in less than 10 minutes. Really, the testing part is longer than the making part.

fun drinking game: take a shot every time 'romantic' or 'romance' is mentioned. you're welcome.

Warden of the Coast has optional romance quests you can pursue with certain companions, a nice little addition to an already good mod imo. But that OUTFIT AUGH. I had to do something about it. So this patch came to be.

What this teeny tiny ESL-ified mod does:

  • Edits several dialogue options so the romantic interest "detects" any clothing with ClothingRich keyword (meaning, vanilla Fine Clothes, any dresses from Divine Elegance and possibly other mods), instead of solely on WotC's romantic outfit.
  • Edits WotC's romantic outfit to have ClothingRich keyword, in case you do still want to use it for the romance quest.
  • Adds new armor instances of fancy clothes, 4 in total, picked at random from Apachii: Divine Elegance outfits, and makes the romantic interest use them for the romance quest. There are 4 different variants they could wear.

As an added bonus, if the romantic interest is of the same gender as your dragonborn, they get to wear DIFFERENT OUTFITS on their date now! No more twinsies!

Apachii DIvine Elegance is required. If you don't want to, or you just want the Dragonborn to wear whatever the heck they want and not bother with companion outfits at all, there's an optional lite version that only modifies the dialogue options (meaning romantic interest still wears the default romantic outfits).

Questions someone will probably ask in the future:

- Why does the NPC look different in your screenshots than in my game? I'm using this.

- Can't you just make the new outfits standalone? I don't want to install 2 gigs worth of useless dress I'm not about to wear! Sorry but no. Making outfits standalone would require asking for permissions from this and that, and I'm just not ready for that kind of mental toll yet. Also I couldn't be arsed.

- There's a bug in the game that's definitely caused by your mod. Tell me about it. No, seriously. I've only tested it with one date quest so far, and there's 7 romanceable companions with a lot of variations depending on where your date takes place, so there's bound to be something I missed.

- I'm wearing a fancy outfit and my romantic interest still thinks I look the same. If it's a mod-added outfit, open SSEEdit and check that it has ClothingRich as one of its keywords. Vanilla fine outfit should work regardless, so try with that first.

- But there's no vendor that sells rich clothing in WotC's new worldspace...? And that's why you gotta bring one from home! Or console it in. (edit: apparently there's a guaranteed piece of vanilla Fine Clothes lying around somewhere in S.S. Deficit, on a cupboard outside Iriel's room I believe.)

- Can I still wear the romantic outfit added by the mod? Does the merchant chest still sell it? Yes.

- I don't like the outfit selection you choose for the companions. Too dressy! You can't please everyone.
