Idiot Elf = I don’t see why we couldn’t head off to hunt down the Silver Hand for Aela first.
Lydia = You just want to do werewolf stuff to impress her. You may remember that we were supposed to be meeting Esbern and Delphine at Karthspire.

Lydia = Perhaps I am. But I think that finding this Blades Temple and stopping the Dragon Invasion is more important than a personal vendetta against a group of dog haters.

Lydia = Don’t bet on it. These quest givers have a knack of just hanging around and doing nothing until you show up.
Idiot Elf = Perhaps they just want to see the Dragonborn hero in action. I am turning into a bit of a legend now.
Lydia = Or perhaps they just want to see if you really are as incompetent as your gormless expression suggests. That must be Karthspire. Come on.
