Yup that's true, I always use the basic shape of the vanilla door so that it perfectly fits. I'd have to alter the arch also while keeping the UV map, I'll see what I can do.
That is a very good idea. Just had a look at the Windhelm door, the vanilla/SMIM mesh is almost the same. I guess it would look awesome with this size.
