You have some good arguments and I agree. Making a good retexture for the vanilla walls is a bit more difficult. There are a few retextures out there. The textures in his mod remind me of cabal/amidianborn, but he removed the seams of the vanilla bugthesda. I guess he had to find a compromise. If the stones are more exposed, they are either visibly blocky or with a higher poly count too ressource needing.
