I would love to see a more "adapted" version to the harsh climate of Skyrim - a little bit of fur, maybe sleeves for the armors....

I don't disagree, on one hand I prefer to stay close to vanilla in these retextures, but I have to touch meshes for enviroment mapping so I must as well add sleeves. But, if I do it there's going to be some people asking to also have an option like vanilla so it's extra work and I don't like optionals.. I'll think about it.

It's interesting to see early concept art for skyrim's imperial armors, they are a lot more "Skyrimy" and less Roman, having lots of fur, cloaks and many almost nordic decorations with dragons and stuff.

Thanks for the quick reply! There is a mod called "sleeved imperials", if your retexture works with that you don't have to do it yourself. Yeah, I saw the concept art as well - I think the didn't do it due to the limitations of consoles.

I think those sleeves are from the stormcloak/guard armor. I have a retex of that but it's kinda old and it won't match that well.

When you say you have to touch the meshes, does that mean the textures won't work for those of us who use modded meshes, or just won't look quite as good as they could?

The latter, they will work and i'll try to get them to look as best as I can with vanilla meshes but the metals in particular can greatly benefit from enviroment mapping and that requires modifying the meshes in this case. That said this kind of mesh changes is quite trivial, I'll probably post instructions on how to do it so people can handle compatibility by themselves.

Regarding the light and heavy imperial armour, I don't know if this is behind the scope of this mod, but I kind of would love if the female armour could be editet to also be the male version, in the sense that the female version simply looks better because it has fur (kind of makes sense in Skyrim).

Also it would be beautiful if the Legion in Skyrim actually followed the pattern from the artwork:

    http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120216224817/elderscrolls/images/b/bb/Imperial_Armor_Concept.jpg

In principle this seem like more minor variations, but kind of would give the Legion imo more character and be less like the "leather gang" of vanilla, but again probably behind the scope of the mod.

Regarding giving Tulius heavy bracers etc: Mh, I always considered him wearing complete light armour a personal choice, though it would make sense if he would wear more quality stuff then the standart leather boots and breacers, on the other hand I disike mods that make his stuff "to fancy" and at the end of the day he seems like a no-nonsense guy who prefers it practical.

Regarding the Penitus, I honestly don't get them fully. Why they are just wearing this slightly modified imperial light armour, when/if they serve as bodyguards for the emperor maybe they should wear more "emperor guardy" stuff? If they act as agents their armour is also kind of silly. Maybe more of a Beyond Skyrim Cyrodill territory, to flesh them out.

Man, that was one of my favorite armors in Vanilla and you make it look really... Regal.

As for Carius' one, what would you thing of making it silver and blue/purple instead of gold and red ? It comes from TES III after all, and the legion theme was more blue than red back then. Of course, in this case Carius personal armor was actually red and gold if memory serves, so it really come back to sensitvity. Blue legion really strikes my nostalgia, personally.

Btw, as for items that I think could thematically sitck with the retexture project, I can thin of the Emperor Robes, the gilded wristguards and the amulet of the Elder Council. I personnally don't really care for the mesh of the first one, but would love to see your take on the other two.

Love your work anyway, and I can't wait to see what you do with penitus more no-nonsense verson of the armor.

Silver purple for carius sounds good for extra variety, yeah, I'm probably doing that.
I don't think I'm adding emperor's stuff in this one.
Care to explain your problem with vanilla penitus' armor btw?

I must have misexplained mysilef, I have no problem with it. On the contrary, I love how it looks like a more sober, stern warrior version of the general armor.

Glad to hear that about Carius armor !
