There's always a catch to being "Honored" by the Jarl's. When she finds out how much gold it costs to buy...she'll be investing in a tent...and the camping mod! It's going to make living like a thief maybe not all that unattractive of an alternative....that is is until she walks into a city and finds out the 3rd cousin, (who was 300 leagues away from the scene at the time) of a drunk guard turned her in and she has to go to jail.

Jarl Balgruuf = That is good news indeed. Ahh, here comes Irileth.

Idiot Elf = Hi Irileth. You got here quickly.
Irileth = Yes. It is surprisingly easy to carry back naked kinsmen. You’d not know anything about that I suppose.
Idiot Elf = You’re welcome.
Jarl Balgruuf = The call must have been for you then Idiot. You will have heard the shout from the Greybeards.
Idiot Elf = Greybeards?
Jarl Balgruuf = They are an ancient and honoured order that dwell in the mountain sanctuary High Hrothgar. Since the dragon attack on Helgen, they have been searching for one they call Dragon Born or Dovahkiin. But that is the first time we have heard their call.
Idiot Elf = Sounds like some weird or wacky cult to me.
Jarl Balgruuf = They are secretive, but revered. I think you will have to climb the seven thousand steps and present yourself to them.
Idiot Elf = What? Seven thousand steps! Is there no lift or elevator to the top?
Jarl Balgruuf = Not that I know of. To be summoned is considered a great honour. Anyway, you have done a great service for our people. For this I appoint you Thane of Whiterun, and offer you the services of Lydia as your personal Housecarl.
Idiot Elf = Erm, thanks, I guess. No chance of any gold then?
Jarl Balgruuf = No. But if you wish, you may see Proventus Avenicci here and purchase a house within the city.
Idiot Elf = These rewards suck! OK. I’ll be going then. I need to get to the shops before they shut.
Hrongar = Do you really think she could be the one brother?
Jarl Balgruuf = Let’s hope not! But ultimately, it is not for us to decide.
