Thank you!
I like many of the pictures you made here, but my fav is this dark scenery. No joke - the imagination of a cool and absolutely quiet night was able to lower my blood pressure immediately.
I felt a bit rusty when starting off with the console commands and the camera movement, but rather quickly adapted it all anew and with a much more powerful PC this time, all runs liquid smooth which also makes the screenarchery much more fast and easy to do. I'm going to say that I will upload tons of images, because I still feel that I haven't done what I really wanted, and with my army of characters, they all cry for some love and attention!
Dark scenes in general are my favorites. I could do it all like that. Really! But I also like the options of grand colours, lack of hues, monotone images, strong contrast and so on, so there will be mixed shots as usual. I will be keeping an extra eye open at nighttime if I'm out on the roads or caught in the wilderness though, because I know you will like what I see during these moments in the game (only sad thing is that I play with eat/drink/sleep, so I do have to find an inn or set up the tent during the darkest hours).
Many, many thanks for your comment! I've always liked your detailed personal views and specific picks of favorites...
I've played a lot of Baldur's Gate 3 these last few months and everytime I role a crit I salute fellow DM's all around the world...
Oddly enough, I came across a friend of ours in my remaining collection of images from way back that we both know...you may remember her...
Three kings so proud and strong,
tyrannical and mighty
wearing golden crowns.
Rulers of kingdoms where their fame belong,
gruesome and powerful
holding land and towns.
The first one a warrior
brutal and grim.
His fists covered in iron
while controlled by his whim.
Slashing his foes down
wherever he went.
A blood-soaked sword,
his constant torment.
The second a wizard
mad and insane.
His mind a labyrinth
filled with terrifying pain.
Using spells and the darker arts
from his throne of bones.
A sadistic trophy
made while the dying moans.
The third one a trickster
cunning and sly.
With a love for cruelty
and a wailing cry.
Poisonous potions
and then the agony begins.
Given to the unwary
while the king grins.
One queen with ruby lips and raven-black hair
almighty and a widow
sitting in her lonely hall.
Wanted by the three as they find her so fair,
now slumbering in her castle
slayed by the queen all.
All the very best, my dear old mate!
It sure has been a while and therefor it's very pleasing to see you're around in this Nexus of ours. Skyrim didn't behave properly the last time I was getting ready for new explorations and adventures - back in January - and it got me tired of the constant "test and play" runs, so instead I put it aside and went all in on Baldur's Gate 3 (mostly). These last few days my itch for Skyrim came back, so I did yet another re-start with a brand new modlist and hopefully it will act nice this time. I plan on being here more frequently again...or for as long as the game allows me!
I feel very honoured you still have the lyrics for the poem I wrote up a few years ago. I must admit it brings back fond memories too as we were a few people acting much like friends on this site, encouraging each other with both images, words and written stories. Nowadays it seems most are strangers or they have taken refuge on other social media platforms. I've always felt like belonging here most and for all though, since I'm not a very socially active individual in real life. I also knew you always liked this poem, but I didn't know you've kept it entirely. I bet your SvarthjÀrta has it framed in her secret chamber, just like my version of Lady Elspeth...
You're quite close on Akiko, so no sword-maiden this time!
She's more of a witch-kind-of-character in the sense of using magic without permission. In her home region - to the far east of my wordspace - magic is used under certain jurisdiction and controlled more or less by laws, so those using this knowledge aside of that are called witches, apostates, rogue mages and hedgemages. These individuals are often hunted and scorn upon as they're outcasts or lawless people, even if many are common tribesmen healers, alchemists, spirit shamans or natural sorcerers. Akiko is such a character with a very wide array of elemental powers to her disposal.
Great seeing you again, Les! I'll make sure to come visit a bit more often, now that I've finished Baldur's Gate 3 a few times. I've also been missing the whole screenshot hobby as it's both relaxing for the soul and inspirational for the writing mind...
...and your spirit will for always stay with us with memories of your glorious Skyrim paintings of celestial light and grand colour palettes!
A very warm hug to you as well, my friend and thanks for leaving a comment!
We seem to have lost many friends from this platform and my heart is saddened by this.
A big hug to you, old friend!
