About this image
As part of the update (and port) I've reworked the textures and done a couple alternative looks. I still have to decide how I'm going to release them. One possibility is having all 3 variants available ingame, since I have the armor stand, that framework could be used for the swapping. The downside is the filesize would increase, about 50mb per extra variant if I can get away with just changing the diffuse maps, if to get that look ingame I need to adjust the specular map of each variant then it's 150mb per variant (for the 4k version), that for people on Xbox1 could be a concern (On bethesda.net I'm usually uploading an optimal mix of 4k and 2k so it would be less on second thought)
The alternative is downloadable optionals only available on the nexus with the main variant being either white or shiny, the downside being 2 texture variants in 4k/2k in oldrim and sse is a ton of files to upload and a pain to manage, though I could make a single package with a fomod installer so you guys can choose variant and resolution, it would certainly be less painful for me.
If I can get a decent translation from this render to ingame with just different diffuse maps (and shader settings in the nif) I think I'll go the ingame route so Xbox1 users can also get them.
Anyway, feel free to tell me your thoughts, which variant do you prefer? Which should be the main/default one, white or shiny? would you rather have them all ingame or decide at the time of installation?

All 3 would be great!
Edit: if i'd have to choose, black and gold for sure!
Do you know when you will release this?
Loving the black and gold version, excellent work as always!
Cheers, JK
thanks!
Now my suggestions (very personal, so just take them for what they are):
1) The paladin is a positive figure, he should recall the light, the good, and so on... I would consider ONLY bright colors for the armors, like white, bright grey, cyan/ice and so on. The black/brown/dark versions for me are just nonsense.
2) The paladin should be a very manly representative of a good power. So, please, scratch those curvy golden decorations on the armor, and find something more straight, rational and truly decorative (not just like those swings here and there). Something that adds epicness to his visual impact. I would consider something close to the dwemer style for the beginning and then shape it more with your tastes/abilities.
3) The medieval styled helmet (the weared one, with the "ears") is well... Well it looks terrible (sorry). I would keep myself out of traditional medieval styled helmet, skyrim is not a simulator and they looks boring and ugly in my opinion. The other helmet has a very captivating style, just please removes those curvy decoration and place the breathing holes that you put on the other helmet.
NEUTRAL - Where can we see some picture from behind ? -
For me all the rest is pretty much a work of art. It is right i mention what i really like:
4) The leather parts feels very believable, the right color, the nice textures and accessories.
5) The gauntlets and the shoulders make sense and are very original and well shaped.
6) Golden parts looks nobles and cool. Like a paladin should be. So, yeah!
7) Pretty much i admire the long work i think this thing took to you, well done.
I dont think i'm going to remove the swirly decorations, i like them, they fit the breton aesthetic and the art piece this is based on had similar details. Plus removing them at this point is a pain.
What I am actually going to try though is make them silvery not golden because in the current setup they dont have their own cubemap due to the lack of geometry support so they look less golden than the big golden details. I'll see how i like it that way and decide.
That "winged" helmet is directly based on the knights of the nine one from oblivion so i'd say its pretty lore friendly and fits the world. as for it being ugly, im certain many like it, I love it, its a very iconic piece of Tes4.
I have a render with the back in the oldrim mod page i believe.
Disagreements aside I appreciate the feedback, thanks.
The corrupted paladin makes sense, somehow (talking about this: wouldn't be so nice having the dark armor with dark green decorations instead of golden ones ? *_* ).
For the swirly decorations: i knew removing them would be a pain, i just felt it was better to let you know my ideas, maybe for some future project. Who knows?
For the winged helmet: i think i have already saw something like that elsewhere, Dragon Age Origins maybe, i have never played any other T.E.S. title so i know almost nothing about the lore style anyway i blindly trust you if you say it is lore friendly, i have no doubt.
That said, i probably like it even less now because i feel like i will see more of them in the future
Sorry it just looks too dumb to me. Probably cause as soon as i got my eyes on the helmet my mind stop thinking "this is a brave paladin" and starts thinking "this is a lego plastic made funny puppet that swings his rubber sword around".
Nothing personal, i hope you understand!
I admire your work and i will probably install the mod too cause it is really cool.
And i usually don't go around giving my suggestions to someone if i don't think that "that someone" has such a great talent that can do better and better again...
EDIT: i am looking at your Oldrim files list... DAMN you're good man.
