Thanks for posting your ideas , I really appreciate and respect everyone's opinion , but I don't post images hare to get feedback and then change stuff to please everyone's taste. I post just to show work in progress to ppl who're interested.
I truly appreciate your work and I'm glad you make things according to your vision. If people don't like it use another replacer or attempt to make your own.
Recently I had to reinstall Skyrim and your collection is mandatory! You have been doing an amazing artwork! I'm looking forward Meridia, too. You see, since I started playing Skyrim many years ago, Meridia and Azura always got me intrigued!
Joistikas maybe you would prefer a version where the statue is covered in a Burqa? Maybe there's also a mod which gives every female NPC a Burqa, too? That way, you wont have to look at any "provocative" females, anywhere in the game!
well yes, but some constructive criticism is always good. I think you've taken it as "I hate it because it could be better" instead of "I like it, but here is how you could improve to make me love it".
The problem is art is subjective and he or she has a vision. People are stating their opinions as fact, and many not doing so constructively either. I'm sure he'll take ideas he likes as long as they don't detract from his vision, but some of the people in here made themselves sound very entitled and ridiculous. Additionally, this is titled "early WIP" which means a lot is subject to change potentially. The mod author also clarified:
People need to work on their manners. I don't know that he is even looking for feedback. Just showin progress for hype. They can say and act however they want, but best to not send the wrong message to the hand that feeds you. I see many mod authors complaining about entitlement lately and it's clearly seen here. Would hate to lose another.
I just appreciate the effort and creativity that goes into all these. Mandra especially has a good taste in fantasy-like statue creation and that's what makes a good story telling game like Skyrim. Personally, Beowulf is a story that I really like and things that don't go too overboard into the sexual stuff. That's mainly what I see has criticism in these types of posts and shouldn't be the main focus really.
Honestly this version looks more like someone cosplaying Meridia. I'd recommend a different pose (perhaps arms raised or sword held in front of her with the point touching the ground), robes closer to the vanilla ones (more flowing and less skin-tight), ditch the circlet, and give her larger wings that reach to the ground like all the other portrayals.
tbh the pose seems too, I guess, casual? Like, she looks regal, but not powerful. A firmer stance with less contrapposo would be more appropriate I believe
Omg, she looks perfect! I think Meridia often gets depicted like a traditional "pure" and "angelic" being because she represents light and hates undeath. But she IS still a daedra, and a wrathful one. To me, this statue captures a figure that is regal, confident and proud, while also being mysterious and inscrutable. She looks like she could smite you with a glance if she felt like it, and she knows it. She wields light that illuminates and gives life, but also burns and destroys. It fits Meridia so well! I would not change a thing.
I think your partialy right about the pure and angelic part. people see her that way but what people forget is she is inspired by a traditional angel which are powerful and scary. They carry out God's judgment in the bible. They are warlike. I think there is a balence though, as meridia is not technily a deadra actully. She is closer to an adrea in lore as she assisted in the world creation, and is pure to a fault. Her hatred of injustice and the onholy is unmatched. read my post to get a more clear idea on my stance but i see her more as an equivalent to the greek goddess Athena who was pure and conservitive but extreamlty femine and powerful aswell. I just don't think the balance is there yet
She is "pure" in the sense of her unwavering hatred of darkness, undeath and injustice, but hating something that's considered evil does not necessarily make you good. In the Daggerfall quest, she asks you to go kill a worshipper simply because they stopped doing as she bid. A victimless crime, and yet her sentence was death. But I would absolutely agree that she feels more akin to a Greek goddess than to a Judeo-Christian angel. Athena definitely acts more out of rage than actual justice in some stories...looking at you, story of how Medusa came to be o.O
I'll admit to having some of PSBoss' works; I also have Mandragorasprouts. And I fully agree that this Meridia is spot on--I will be replacing what I have with this one. Please keep this concept of Meridia.

...and with this you demonstrate you have no understanding of definitions, because you go straight to a "sexist" remark.

These are essential mods for me
