The building at the top of Snowhawk will mostly likely be a player home. If you care, please answer the following question in the comments:
Which option do you prefer?
Option 1: You receive a letter from the Jarl of Hjaalmarch, some time after you becamee Thane, asking you to remove the bandits from Snowhawk, with the former Thane's hall being given too you as a reward, if you succeed.
Option 2: When you kill the bandit chief, he drops the key and you can use the house as a player home right away, without any other requirements and quests.
