Making an ESPLite/ ESPFE/ ESPL

There will be a lot of [ESPLite] marks in the guide... It mean that you need to add ESL flag to the ESP file in xEdit. You can do it safely on almost all patches!
Here, I will explain how to do it.

There will be also a lot of [ESPLite - C] marks in the guide... It mean that you need to Compact Form IDs before you add ESL flag to the plugin. Here, I will explain how to do it. 

WARNING! Compacting mods is the last thing that you want to do! Do it only, when you're hitting the 255 plugins limit!!!! Remember that you need to enable all patches related to compacted plugin!

    Hi, just a quick question... At the end of every one of your sections it says "don't forget you can ELSIFY all your patches" - Ive only done the ones in light blue. Can I also ESL all my patches ontop of the ones in light blue? Thanks, appreciate your guide mate :)

      it says on top of this page that you can elsify almost all patches.

    Hello even if do make them ESL files like you showed in my mod manager (Vortex) the plugins counts haven't been reduced is that normal?

      The plugin stays where it is. It was not deleted or anything. It just doesn't now count against the 255 limit.

      This makes it even worse for me, because it does not show exactly if you really are below the limit or not.
      Last time i was at 280 esp mods according to the list only 4 where esl lite ones so i was stumped that the game started like nothing was wrong.
      But in time it ended in another fail, the question is what caused the fail.
      No logs available to see what happened and after the fail it simply never opened.
      After i hit skse loader it instant went dead, no messages, no screens, no logs ... poof gone .
      Ofcourse i tried disable the mods which i suspected to be the culpritts, but after weeks of trying i gave up.
      Posting on fora did kinda allways got the same useless responces.
      So i cleaned my game drive and started from scratch, but meanwhile i had to switch to another brand of motherboard and things got worse after that.
      Even though i have more memory now, and faster (from ddr3 to ddr4) the game is crashing more often.
      Hardware tests do not reveal any errors on the hardware at all, and the hardware it has is on the recommended for this machine.
      As long as i only install the basic mods i need, todo my gameplay are fairly standard looking it runs.
      But when i add expansions, player homes, new armors, followers and fun stuff like legacy of the dragonborn the issues start pretty quick.

      It helps to use loot, cause when you go over, or hit the 255 plugin slot which is normally reserved for esl plugins, cause you will get a message stating as such, I am at almost 600 plugins and that is with a crap ton of esl plugins and some merged ones and some regular ones, XD

      I am not getting any such messages with LOOT, but when I lunch Skyrim and get to the main menu it does not load the menu options (such as New Game, Load,...) and instead there is that animated loading circle and it keeps going forever...
      So, too many plugins, or something else gone wrong ?

    Hello I need some clarification on this when I ESPL the patches they still count in my plugins count on MO2.
    I read thats normal but files that are ESPL wont count to it so I was woundering if there is a way to see how much plugins I have left?

    Right now im at 221 but atleast 50-ish are ESL but I cant tell for sure.

    I have noticed some of the reccomended files for ESPLite won't convert to ESL tags. Am I doing something wrong? I noticed this with Bent Pines and another file, I can't remember.

    Awesome! First and foremost - thanks for clarity and straight forward directions. Second, I was curious as to the reason most mod authors do not compact Form IDs as a matter of course... if you know. Thanks.

      Hi sammy. I'm a 50 year old modder who does this as a hobby and I am really having fun with the nordic guide...I can't wait to play the game that this guide has helped me create. I have asked several questions here, some have been answered and some have not, I suppose their is a logical reason for that. This question however asked by TygerxEyes is also a logical question of which I also desire an answer if you might know. As a semi experienced modder I also would like to know the reason esp's are not always setup as esl's? I've always had an issue with keeping my load order under 255 and I would assume that im not the only one. So if you have a moment let me know what you think. I'm also fooling around with making a couple of patches for some mods im using that don't play nice together and if I upload them to the Nexus should they be esp or esl. Peace and thank you. :)

      First of all eslifying is pretty new thing for SSE (early 2018 I think but don't quote me on that) and not all mods were created at the time where this was/is possible. And compacting + eslifying is even newer (again, don;t quote me on that).
      Second of all there is limitation in the amount of form IDs in one esp/esm. This limit is 2048. If a mod/plugin has more IDs than this it cannot be eslified. Technically it can but the overflowing IDs (above 2048) will be added to the next eslified/esl plugin in line. This will make your game CTD and/or your saves will be corrupt.
      Google ESPlite plugins or something similar and it will give you more answers than I could.

    I can do this for nearly every Mod? Like Cicero Female, KSHairdo´s or the Book of UNP/Immersive Armors

    Or am i missunderstanding this right now?

      I, too, would like to know this. I'm not sure if it refers to any and all applicable [ESPLite] files just in case you forget, or if it means to consider to ESLify as many as possible per section (even the ones not highlighted as such).

      Do this to just those mods which are marked in the guide as such.
      [ESPLite] can be done at any point, for example after each section or after each install.
      [ESPLite - C] is better to do after you have all of your mods setup.

      Hello, if we have a mod that is not in the guide, is there a way to know if it is possible to eslify it ?
      Also, can we esl merged plugins ?

      What merged plugins do you want to eslify? Guide does not merge anything except the last zEdit part. Guide doe snot supports merging plugins. There is eslifying instead.

      I would ESL the ones that don't require compacting first. When you are reaching the 255 limit then compacting is a last resort.

      It's better to wait to compact ESPLite-C files later since you have to compact them with their patches and some patches come later on in the guide which when you compact a FormID it won't be compatible with any patches you throw on it that come later in the guide (I don't know a lot on this topic, this is just from my understanding). So if you reach the limit, find an ESPLite file that you KNOW you have all the files related to it and then compact the FormID.
