UNABLE TO DOWNLOAD

  • Set game to English
  • Run Steam file validation
  • Relog into Nexus in Wabbajack software

YOU MUST

Installation
  • Download the zip file from Nexus, extract into .wabbajack file
  • Download and run Wabbajack program itself from https://www.wabbajack.org/ and choose the install from disk option, choose the .wabbajack file, install it
  • Your wabbajack file, game folder and mod list installation folder must be completely separate root folders.  Something like C:\Downloads for .wabbajack file, C:\Steam Library\Skyrim VR for the game, and C:\Mad God Overhaul for the mod list itself
  • Antivirus will occasionally flag Wabbajack files or even textures from Nexus, it is safe to ignore, turn off all antivirus and defender if you don't know how to whitelist
  • Typical download errors are caused by Nexus server issues. Quit Wabbajack, restart, overwrite to resume and you won't lose any progress.  If every file is failing, relog into Nexus from Wabbajack
  • If the error is about a file that should be part of standard Skyrim installation (i.e. INI file or DLL file), set the game to English, do a Steam file validation
  • You do not EVER need to delete and reinstall a Wabbajack list from scratch, it is a 100% file sync

Starting The Game

  • Once installation is complete, open MO2 from the installed folder and run "Play Game (SKSE)" from upper right corner, everything is already included and ready to go out of box
  • Disable Dynamic Resolution in Game! Super sampling in game should be set to lowest in-game, see performance article for more details
  • When starting new game, wait for all the start-up scripts to run and finish, and save the game in the starting room
  • Mods/plugins are disabled for a reason, do not mass enable all or sort plugins with LOOT, if you did, restore mod order with back arrow on mod tab, restore plugin order with back arrow on plugin tab
  • Do not try to use a vanilla save to see the vanilla intro, you must start the game modded to avoid corrupted save

Vanilla Start

  • Mad God Overhaul uses Live Another Life which allows you to choose one of the many roles to play right away.  You can start the game as a registered soldier, in a guild, skip all the initial quests to become Dragonborn, start in Bruma, be a Legacy of the Dragonborn explorer, be a vampire . . . it offers something fresh right off the bat without redoing the same quests
  • To start the main quest, go to Helgen, see the dragon for the first time, then go to Dragonsreach
  • You can choose the "Caught Between Borders" start for vanilla start

I started the game up and my character is stuck squatting. The hands are in the right place and I've tried adjusting VR height which moves the camera to my height, but the character model is still squatting. I'm sure that it's a setting that needs messing with. Anyone have any ideas which?

I've ran through all the installation but when I go to actually run the game, SteamVR via SteamLink on my headset just crashes, specifically stating its lost its connection to my computer.

I'm also interested in the wireless type of connection. What one should do to be able to do this?

Connecting to a PC via a link cable means you are using your PC's GFX and processing power. Rather than the inbuilt hardware of the headset. This can mean much better performance. It is recommended for large mod packs to play via the link cable. I use a Meta Quest 3 and a INUI Link cable and have 0 issues with performance, although I do have a beast PC running a 4090.

      to "TheCarnioh"
That is completly wrong, Wireless and Wire are the exact same results at the end of the day.
What you are suggesting means the quest does all the work if in wireless, but wired it doesnt ?
That is not how this works lol!
Even go on virtual desktop discord and ask the team themselves if you wanna double check my words, Wireless and Wire are nothing more than the data method of transport between the PC and the VR headset, the PC Encode the VR-stream, the quest receives the data and Decode.
The only thing wireless differs from Wire is Network-latency, So you would think Wire can take more right ? Not really lol! thats because the Quest headset Decoding ability is Very limited compared to the PC.

Proper Wireless dedicated router setup is always the ultimate method since you can use battery packs.

usb can have a higher bitrate on the streaming to the headset. however if your headset is using the usb for data it' s going to be flat in about 1.5 hours. your mileage will vary on whether you'd rather have a better image briefly or longer sessions with artifacting

Even when using a dedicated WiFi 6e AP, you'll get black frames, stutters and (at best) ghosting... with a wireless link, you'll always be trading quality for wireless flexibility. I've been able to get this mod list pretty stable at 72fps at 70% resolution, using Quest 3 in Steam VR. But I gave up in favor of 120fps, 100% res on the link cable, using a 4080s. So many texture mods and the atmosphere is dialed to 11 with this mod list, it would be a waste to relegate it to a wireless link... Plus, it's gonna crash sometimes, no matter what you do.. it's still Skyrim after all... And I mean GPU APi is going to completely restart so Virtual Desktop will crash as well. it's just another hassle I didn't need to deal with.

Great Mod List, if I didn't have a wife and kids, I'd roll NSFW and never leave the house. Absolute Legend!

What is the equivalent of 'Set shader cache to 10GB or more in Nvidia control panel' on AMD cards?

Is the new version compatible with a past version's saves?   It would be ok  but a bit of a pain to have to start all over again.

Absolute chad! Quick question- should increasing virtual memory be done on C (boot drive) or the drive you have SkrimVR and mods installed on or both?

NVM..You want to make sure you set all other drives in your PC to No paging file unless you want to record Error info. In this case, leave your C: drive (if this isn't your main paging file drive) with about 300MB.
