Skyrim Special Edition

1. Preperation
This is a small tutorial for more experienced users that already have some knowledge how to use DynDOLOD. For starters it may work too, but can be a bit a pain to get everything to work correctly. Hopefully this little tutorial helps. This only explains how to generate 3D Tree LODs with EVT.

2. Install DynDOLOD

  • Install DynDOLOD Resources SE with Mod Organizer 2
  • Open the DynDOLOD Standalone archive and extract the DynDOLOD folder to your prefered location (ex. C/Modding/DynDOLOD)

3D Ultra Trees LOD

  • open DynDOLOD folder and navigate to DynDOLOD\Edit Scripts\DynDOLOD
  • open DynDOLOD_SSE.ini and change TreeLOD=1 to TreeLOD=0
  • also delete everything inside the cache folder (DynDOLOD\Edit Scripts\DynDOLOD\cache)
  • Now go into Mod Organizer and add the DynDOLOD executable (x64) -> also add -sse into Arguments as start parameter.

TexGen

  • Add the TexGenx64.exe as executable in Mod Organizer and run it, exported files will be put into DynDOLOD\TexGen_Output
  • Copy the generated files and move them into a new mod folder in Mod Organizer or add them into a zip archive and add the archive as new mod in Mod Organizer (call it TexGen_Output) and enable it

3. Install Enhanced Landscapes + EVT

  • Install Enhanced Landscapes and enable the .esp files
  • Install EVT + Billboard Generator (also replace the SRG Enhanced Trees Activator.esp with the one I provide in this guide).
  • Enable all .esp files and run LOOT

Mod Folders Load Order
should look like this before generating 3D Tree LODs

4. Generating Objects & 3D Tree LOD

  • Run DynDOLOD (make sure you're in the Advanced mode)
  • Generate Tree LOD option should be greyed out
  • Now use the Medium/High Preset and make sure under "Mesh lodgen rules" the tree option has Static LOD4 enabled:

  • Make sure "Generate Static LOD", "Create Texture Atlas" & "Generate DynDOLOD" are enabled
  • Check Tamriel & any other worldspace you want to create LOD for and run DynDOLOD
  • The generated files will be saved under DynDOLOD\DynDOLOD_Output
  • Copy the generated files (meshes/textures/skse folders and DynDOLOD files) and move them into a new mod folder in Mod Organizer or add them into a zip archive and add the archive as new mod in Mod Organizer (call it DynDOLOD_Output)
  • Enable the new created DynDOLOD_Output mod and its .esm/.esp files and start the game
  • If everything worked you should now have amazing looking distant models
