Skyrim Special Edition

Morthal is now a much more livelier place. Most folks now dine at the Moorside Inn on specific days and talk about the subjects near and dear to their hearts.

Schedule-wise, Benor now truly patrols the area,  Lami can be found searching the swamp for alchemical ingredients, Alva can be spotted visiting the guards and lurking outside Falion's home at night, little Agni visits Jonna while a confused Virkmund searches the town for signs of his missing mother, and much more...

The conclusion of the Laid to Rest quest now has an impact on some of the citizens. You will notice things like Virkmund beginning to spend more time with his father, Hroggar (if left alive) mourning in the cemetery, and Benor focusing his attentions on a certain cave rather than the burned house.

Upon completing Waking Nightmare, Erandur will travel to Morthal on weekends. He particularly enjoys visiting the shrine of Mara located within the marsh.

Once you have become a a thane of Hjaalmarch, Valdimar will appear and start following his own schedule (but only if you have yet to purchase Winstad Manor). You'll find him patrolling the marsh, visiting the shrine of Mara, paying his respects at Morthal's cemetery as well as visiting the inn when he's not inside of High Moon Hall.

Eisa has good deal of wanderlust. During the week, she's exploring the massive swamp area of Hjaalmarch; she particularly likes staring up at Solitude as she reminisces about the past. When not picking fights with the local terrors of the marsh, she'll visit the Moorside before retiring to sleep outside of one of the local ruins. On weekends, she walks to Dawnstar. When not visiting the shops or the inn, she can be found picking a fight with the local bandits camped near the sea. That prime sleeping spot by the campfire is hers, a lesson they will not survive long enough to profit from.
