Glamur Reshade Tweak Guide
Here's an overview of things you can adjust to get this Reshade to work well with the rest of your setup. I tried to pick sensible defaults - but also writing this guide for advanced users.
To open Reshade settings, press the Home button, and the settings should appear in the mirror window.
Before adjusting any settings, turn off Performance Mode and restart the game. You can turn Performance Mode back on after you're done.
Sharpening
Sharpening is done through 2 shaders (their effects stack): VR Image Sharpening and Glamayre_Fast_Effects.
VR Image Sharpening is a CAS pass that covers the overall image. I also have some sharpening in Glamayre_Fast_Effects to sharpen nearby details.
Some tips on tweaking the VR Image Sharpening shader can be found here: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/46999 (see "Adjusting values in-game" section)
In Glamayre_Fast_Effects the relevant settings for sharpening are:
- "Intelligent Sharpen" (checkbox, default enabled)
- "Depth Of Field" (checkbox, default enabled)
- "Sharpen Strength" (number between 0 and 2.0, default 0.5. Higher means more sharpening)
- "DOF Blur" (number between 0 and 1.0, default 0. Leave this at 0 unless you want the game to be more blurry in the distance!)
(I don't actually do Depth Of Field blurring. Setting it to enabled and setting the blur value to 0 tells the shader to not sharpen things that are too far away).
If you want to sharpen nearby objects more, increase "Sharpen Strength"
If you want to sharpen distant objects more, first turn off "Depth Of Field" so sharpening affects the distance, then adjust "Sharpen Strength" to taste.
Ambient Occlusion
Relevant settings in Glamayre_Fast_Effects are:
- "AO Strength" - higher means stronger AO shadows
- "AO Shine" - brightens convex objects for more contrast with AO shadows. Higher makes them brighter.
- "AO Max Distance" - stops drawing AO shadows past this distance
AO shadow strength is mostly maxed out. If you're seeing shadows in distant fog, try reducing "AO Max Distance".
Color Correction
There's "Brightness", "Contrast", and "Saturation" sliders under "VR Image Sharpening". Adjust "Saturation" to taste, higher makes the image more colorful.
