- Flash Cs6. Don't ask/pm me where to get it please.
Creating packs are relatively painless. Be aware that the bigger the pack, the more time consuming it is.
Key things to note:
- Icons have directories that they should go under for organization purposes. Please follow the convention especially if you are creating a player pack as those locations are hardcoded.
- .ini and .swf must have the same name or they will be disregarded.
- Labels in .ini must match the frame labels in the swf. Any mistakes will result in your pack looping continously or showing up blank.
- Icons should be 75 x 75
Steps
1. Grab the template file from the downloads.
2. Preprep the icons you want to use and store them in a folder (download them in advance). Make sure they are 75x75
3. Open the template file in cs6.
4. Under File->Import, select Import to Library. Select all the images that you wish to use and hit ok.
5. In your library tab select all the images that you imported and click on properties.
6. Set compression to png and enable smoothing. This is a mandatory step as any other compression will not let them load.
7. Save your file.(Rename it to something unique that pertains to what kind of pack it is)
8. On the labels layer select an empty frame insert a name for the frame in the properties window. Once you do this you should see a redflag.
- If making a race pack the name should be the editorId of the race.
-If making a npc pack, the name should be the FULL name of the npc in xedit.
-If making a faction pack, the name should be the FULL name of the faction in xedit. If the FULL name is empty and it is from one of the vanilla masters, then use the form id instead(e.g 0x1234567)
-If making a player pack, name it something unique. Preferable follow the preexisting naming convention <RaceType>(#) eg. DarkElfSeducer01
9. Select the frame on icons layer(in the timeline) under the frame where you added the named label. On this frame drag your icon to the left hand corner(position 0,0)
10. Repeat steps 8 and 9 for all icons you wish to add.(Go to the next empty frame and repeat the process). Make sure that you add these labels to an ini of the same name as your custom swf. I would recommend having all your labels prepared ahead of time.(Making the ini first)
11. Validate your file looks correct. You should have redflags on your labels layer and a black dot for every red flag on the icons label like so:
12. Compile the file. alt shift + f12 and make sure there are no errors. Name your file something unique so as to not override the ones provided here unless you
are making a replacer.
13. Create the ini if you havent done so already. Add a line entry with the name of every frame label you created. The ini should have the same name as your compiled swf.
14. Move the swf and ini to the appropriate directory to test.
- Races go to Data/interface/Exported/cps/races.
- Factions go to Data/Interface/Exported/cps/factions.
- Npcs go to Data/interface/Exported/cps/npcs
- Female players goes to Data/Interface/Exported/cps/player/female
- Male players goes to Data/Interface/Exported/cps/player/male
- Gender agnostic gores to Data/Interface/Exported/cps/player/generic(gender agnostic), player/male, player/female
15. Test in game. If you have loops or blanks, see the troubleshooting guide on the main page.
If you have questions about anything that needs elaboration or tips on how to improve this guide please post in the comments section of this article.

Oh and also, is there a way to lock the order of the minion display? Every time I load the game, the order would be... in a way I don't like lol (Okay, I know this is just a minor nitpicky problem) and I have to reset the display and talk to my followers again in an order that I like for them to appear in the Minion Display.
Also really curious but, what interface do you use for your game? It looks nifty!
Cheers!
As for the icons, they're just simple screenshots of my characters with a lot of reshade options ticked on lol. Then I just followed this tutorial and maybe tweaked the party parameters for Minions with the Party display turned off.
To Holaholacocacola: was wondering if "time of recruitment" is a thing? If not I don't really mind it now actually lol. I got used to it the more I played and tweaked.
Let's say: with an example:
Mod: Jon.esp
Name: Jon Coolman
Adress: 0x0000d62
EditorID: JonID
I've made a swf with Jon with his custom picture (or "movie") called Cps_jon.swf
In the swf: the label of the first and only frame containing his information is named Jon Coolman
Once this is done, I've exported the swf in Data/interface/Exported/cps/npcs with the name cps_jon.swf
I also create a cps_jon.ini where inside there is only written: Jon Coolman.
Now I have to go to SKSE/Plugins : I have to make a custom pcp file named Jon_PCP inside is written Jon.esp | 0x0000d62
Or do I need to put it elsewhere?
Did I get everything right?
Thank you again! Love your mod! Cheers!
I just needed to get the full name of the NPC, I don't even need his editor ID,
Thanks, I confirm this works really well!
I might have some questions.
So by pressing page up or page down, we can scroll through the different icons for the player, switching from generic.swf to the different icons located in the female/male section. Mine is a section of different pictures from my character:
(Yeah, I know, Deep down, it's just an excuse to display my "cool" character I've spend too much time designing the hair)
Anyway, I feel like I've managed to do that by putting the same name as the label I've written for each frames in CS6 Flash.
However, I do have to question something: Is it possible to get multiple icons for the npcs as well that you can switch by pressing pageup or down? (I assume it's the configuration by default, I know you can tweak your own icons.)
I've made multiple icons for my followers. They are not from any different kind of race and have the usual follower faction
(and here I come again with the seek of approval, it took me hours to get the screenshots right, and It was a pain to make comprehensible photoshop icons. I wanted them to be like Fighting Game Characters icons in Character select screens (But I still wanted it to look a bit lore friendly) ):
So in the grand scheme of things, I'd like to be able to scroll switch from the different followers by pressing PgUp or Pgdown: However, it seems to only be working for the player and not for the rest.
Here is what is in my ini called Cps_FemaleBreton.swf for FemaleBreton:
FemaleBreton
FemaleBreton02
FemaleBreton03
And in my swf file: here is what I called the labels for each frame:
FemaleBreton
FemaleBreton02
FemaleBreton03
And it's the same for the other characters in separated Ini and swf files. It doesn't work for none of them: it just gets stuck into the first picture:
Did I miss anything? Is it just not possible to switch for different icons of the Npc? If it is, I'd like to see what are my options.
By the way, I'd like to thank you again, this mod made my dreams of having unique follower characters displayed in their unique fashion for a while now. This interfaces make my dreams come closer to reality: you've got no idea how much time I've spend crafting those icons (even though I don't even know if they're any good haha)
Cheers!
