Flower Girls - Irresistible: FAQ
How do I turn an NPC into a lover?
Equip the Irresistible spell (it's in your Illusion spells panel), aim at a potential lover, and cast the spell. The spell will fire a green Illusion projectile. If you miss, you can try again. If you hit your target and the spell was successful, you'll get a message in the upper left-hand corner, informing you that your target has become your lover.
Why do some targets of the Irresistible spell turn green, while others get engulfed by a purple whirlwind?
This happens if you have the Auto-Delevel feature turned on in the MCM Settings page. The targets that turn green are either unique or generic NPCs. The ones that get the purple whirlwind are leveled NPCs that the spell automatically delevels for you, making them permanent. Also, starting with version 3.2, NPCs who are flagged as "Starts Dead" will be resurrected with such a purple whirlwind before being converted to lovers.
How do I resurrect an NPC?
Just use the Irresistible spell on them. Alternatively, if the NPC is already your lover, you can use the Resurrection spell or the Resurrect option in the Lover Options lesser power. But the Irresistible spell should work in any case.
How do I remove a lover from the MCM?
There are two ways to do that:
- The Lover Options menu in the MCM - There's an Option field beside each lover entry on the MCM Lovers page; click on that.
- The Lover Options power - Find the Lover Options lesser power in your Powers panel, equip it, make sure your lover is in your crosshairs, and press the Shout key to open the menu.
As soon as the menu is open, select the Remove option (i.e. make sure the fancy arrow to the left of the option marks your choice), then tab out of the menu. Your lover will be removed. If you're in the MCM, you can see the result immediately, because the entry where your lover's name used to be will say "Empty" and be grayed out. If you used the Lesser Powers options menu, you will receive a message in the upper left-hand corner, informing you that your lover has been removed from the MCM.
Remember: Removing a lover from the MCM only removes their protected status, but they remain your lover.
How do I undo the Irresistible spell (break up with my lover)?
Method 1: Choose the Break Up option in the MCM (click on your lover to bring up the options menu).
Method 2: Use the Lover Options lesser power by having your lover in your crosshairs and pressing the Shout key to open the menu. In the menu, choose the Break Up option and tab out of the menu.
Your lover won't be very happy with you if you break up with them, but they will offer you the chance to reconcile with them. In doing so, you'll be able to redefine your relationship (i.e. make them your friend or ally instead of your lover).
I made a bandit (or guard, or vampire, or...) my lover, but why can't I get them to follow me?
Only NPCs with the approved voice types can become followers, because the necessary dialog options were only voiced for those specific voice types. This isn't a bug, it's just an annoying restriction of the game system. I found that out the hard way when I couldn't get a bandit on Solstheim to become my follower. After much research, I discovered she had the FemaleDarkElfCommoner voice type, which isn't in the approved list.
Why doesn't my lover give me the Flower Girls dialog options, or any dialog options, for that matter?
Some NPCs only have blocked dialog, meaning they will have their say and be on their way without giving you a chance to get a word in edgewise. For instance, Agnis in Fort Greymoor (west of Whiterun) is such an NPC. I'm afraid that's not a bug but another one of those annoying game restrictions.
Why can't I make Agni, Sofie, or Lucia my lover?
A child? Really? I'm not even going to dignify that with an answer.
