Skyrim Special Edition

Elisif: Making her quests functional and avoiding the dark-head bug

The mod edits the vanilla NPC record for Elisif to make her tougher, better looking (see images section), more conversational, and capable of following you.

If you want to do the custom Elisif quests in this mod, the .esp file for this mod (SkyrimBounties.esp) needs to be BELOW the .esp file for any other mod that edits Elisif in your load order.

Also, the Elisif face texture/mesh files from this mod need to overwrite the Elisif face texture/mesh files for any other Elisif mod.  Elisif has a custom look in this mod (with long hair) to better live up to the name "Elisif the Fair".

The related FaceGen texture/mesh files that you need to let this mod overwrite are:

Mesh file: FaceGenData > FaceGeom > Skyrim.esm > 0001326A.NIF

Texture file 1: FaceGenData > FaceTint > Skyrim.esm > 0001326A.dds
Texture file 2: FaceGenData > FaceTint > Skyrim.esm > 0001326A.tga

TL;DR: When installing, if your mod manager asks you to overwrite the above texture/mesh files related to Elisif, answer "yes".

Examples of other mods that edit Elisif's NPC record are:

Aesthetic Elisif
QD Characters
Nexus Skyrim Overhaul SSE
Follower Cynthia the Spell Lady and Elisif Replacer SE
Toccata Follower (if Elisif Replacer option is chosen)

If you have any of these mods installed, they need to be ABOVE this mod (SkyrimBounties.esp) in load order, and this mod needs to overwrite the related face meshes and textures for Elisif under the Skyrim.esm folder, as detailed above.

The mods listed above edit solely Elisif's appearance.  Mod authors of the above files are welcome to make a compatibility patch to take the functionality added to Elisif's NPC record in Outlaws & Revolutionaries, and combine it with the Elisif look from their mod.

If you run another mod that adds a second Elisif to the game, then your game will have two Elisif's. This mod only alters the original Elisif NPC record.

Thane Weapons Reborn

Thane Weapons Reborn will give you the Sword of Solitude added by that mod at the beginning of the game.

Palaces and Castles Enhanced

The quest "Seigniorage" has you access a wall safe in Elisif's quarters to retrieve an item. The mod "Palaces and Castles Enhanced" moves the wall. You can use TCL console command to walk through the wall, or use a console command to skip over that stage of the quest. See the Quest Details article for how to do that.

Trainer Dialogue

This mod has 18 trainers, i.e. one for each perk/skill tree.  Three of the trainers are companions (Jesse, Sam, Aurelia) who will train you up to level 100, and the other 15 trainers are NPC's at the Red Lantern Inn who will train you up to level 90.

If you ask a trainer for training and they say "you already know all I can teach you" and/or there's no sound, don't choose that training dialogue option.  Instead use the dialogue option with the word "please" in it, and then they'll train you, up to the maximum allowed.

This is an issue with Jesse (i.e. don't choose the option "I'd like training in Alchemy") and James (heavy armor trainer in the Red Lantern Inn).
