Can I rerun xLodGen, TexGen and DynDoLOD separate from each other or is the one needef for the other in a particular order? I'll have all three of them eventually ofc and I have already all three. But I want to rerun xLODGen only, for now. Can I do that without it effecting the TexGen and DynDoLOD Outputs? Thanks in advance.

I think this guide is for a curated mod list/order/game set-up.

Sounds like he wants you to make a section (separator) in MO2 for xEdit resources i.e., tamriel terrain esp, merged modes, xEdit edits, etc.

Generally you would not run your game with these mods/resources enabled. Only when using xEdit, LODGen or DynDOLOD. Cause each one of these tools will create data/output that will override these resources anyhow.

The last step here is telling to generate occlusion with xLODGen. But DynDoLOD already gives me an occlusion .zip. Am i missing something? Should i also activate the occlusion file generated with xLODGen? This is hella confusing. Never tought modding Skyrim would have such a steep learning curve :/

Only generate one Occlusion .esp using xLODGen

Untick the Occlusion box in DynDOLOD so it doesn't generate it

On the site sheson has stated "For Skyrim, Skyrim VR and Skyim Special Edition I generally suggest to use xLODGen to create an Occlusion.esp for the entire load order. Generating the Occlusion.esp is fairly quick with quality 2 and it means not having additional plugins as master in DynDOLOD. The Occlusion.esp is automatically ESL flagged for Skyrim Special Edition. Since DynDOLOD is just the advanced version of xLODGen for tree and object LOD generation, the code to generate the occlusion data and the results are the same."

Read and follow the official instructions. dyndolod.info/Help/Occlusion-Data

"DynDOLOD offers both options - generate the occlusion data into the DynDOLOD.esp or a separate Occlusion.esp (which is equivalent to using xLODGen) - in the advanced mode options."

Use the official DynDOLOD support forum for qualified help and advice.

People do not tend to become experts by keeping them in the dark. I'm sure there is a simple answer to this question.

For those that need a new link for the SSE Terrain Tamriel file, it's on Nexus now.

    https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/54680?tab=description

It's the first one in the files section.

Good clear description - only wish the linked page in Running xLODGen was as clear
"Adjust LOD settings depending on your needs (check this thread?)"
Its linked images of the settings are too small to see on screen, and if enlarged are too blurry and/or don't even cover the entire options box (too low res)  - trhere are some full sized images simply titled "Custom Settings" - so I've just gone with them

Yes. The whole time if I'm not mistaken.
Other landscape and LOD textures you have should overwrite DynDOLOD resources though, so it should be near the top of your texture mods.

I am encountering this kind of error ( not always exactly the same) when running Occlusion.

Access violation at address 01219D83 in module 'xLODGen.exe'. Write of address ACD7C763

Processing stops and no mod is created.
