Phenderix Magic Reloaded is one of the largest mods available for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition on PS4. The new features added by this mod will completely enhance your experience and unleash hundreds of new roleplaying options.

Phenderix Magic Reloaded is the PS4 version of my PC/XB1 mod Phenderix Magic World. The names are different because the content they add is substantially different. They now even have two different guides. Magic Reloaded is a PS4 exclusive.

THIS MOD IS DESIGNED FOR MAGES, WARRIORS, THIEVES, MONKS, PACIFISTS, ARCHERS, AND EVERYTHING IN-BETWEEN.

This mod will receive frequent updates. These updates will introduce new spells, weapons, locations, and improve existing content.
I strongly encourage you to download this mod and check it out. At the very least, please track this page so you are notified of future updates.


INSTALLATION GUIDE

Please download BOTH PART 1 and PART 2 from Bethesda.net. If you do not download and install both parts, this mod will not work properly.

You should not use Phenderix Magic World, Magic Evolved, Arcane Archery, or Elemental Fighter with this mod. If you have any of these installed, remove them before installing Phenderix Magic Reloaded.

WHERE TO FIND NEW CONTENT ADDED BY THIS MOD?
The content added by Magic Reloaded can be found in the new Manantis worldspace. Most content can be purchased from vendors while other content can only be looted from bosses. Visiting the new locations in Manantis is an optional experience. You do not have to go to the new land to obtain most of the new spells, ammo, or unarmed elemental martial arts.

Most of the spells, ammo, and unarmed elemental weapons added by Magic Reloaded can also be purchased from vendors in Whiterun's Dragonsreach, Solitude's Blue Palace, Markarth's Understone Keep, Windhelm's Palace, and Riften's Mistveil Keep. You will have to level up your magic skills in order to purchase all spell tomes added by this mod. Other content must be obtained from vendors in Manantis or by completing boss encounters. If you want these items, explore and complete the challenges in Manantis!

There is also a "Cheat Chest" in Farengar's room in Dragonsreach which contains most of the spells, ammo, and unarmed elemental weapons added by Magic Reloaded. Other content must be obtained from vendors in Manantis or completing boss encounters. If you want these items, explore and complete the challenges in Manantis! 

This mod does not edit leveled lists, meaning you will not be able to buy spell tomes from random vendors across Skyrim. This has been done to enhance compatibility with other magic mods. You can only buy spell tomes from vendors in Manantis and Dragonsreach.


This mod adds an entire worldspace complete with new locations, NPCs, boss encounters, and purchasable items!

MANANTIS - a new magical town and island to explore!
To get to the new world of Manantis, you must enter a portal that is located outside of Whiterun along a river.  There is a map marker that should show up on your map. You use this portal to enter and exit Manantis.

There isn't much to do in the new town due to limitations on PS4 modding. The NPCs will all look ugly and have purple/black faces due to PS4 modding bugs that are unfixable. Simply walk around, explore, and have fun! The bulk of the content from this mod that can be enjoyed on PS4 comes from the new spells, ammo, and weapons! (most of which can be purchased without ever stepping foot in the new land)

Minor Locations

The School of Witchcraft and Wizardry - school interior containing classrooms, great hall, and spell merchants
Student Athletic Grounds - an area for students to relax from studying
Student Residences - each of the four school houses (red, green, yellow, blue) has a tower where students reside
Manantis Docks - shipping district and entry point to Manantis
Manantis Stables - stables (unfortunately purchasing a horse through this mod doesn't work on PS4)
Azkalin Prison - new dungeon containing frightly creatures
Alaknei Woods - peaceful area where the legendary blacksmith Rhunon resides
The Commodore - a ship that has quite the interior
Lair of the Deathbringer - new boss encounter
Lair of the Prime Evil - new boss encounter
Camp Troy - an outpost for wildlands guards
The Wall / Castle Grey - a stronghold containing wildlands guards and protection from what lies to the north (WIP)
The Forbidden Forest - an area with many frightening creatures that will not hesitate to kill
Hydrafish Pond- a tranquil area with a not so tranquil pond
Windfleur Hill - an ancient ruin with a new resident
The White Cemetery - new boss encounter
Northern Wildlands -an area that is crawling with wights and other beasts
The Chamber of Sircets - a small chamber with an undying enemy
Lookout Mountain - an outpost overlooking Manantis






This mod adds 250+ new spells to the game. Most of these spells were imported from my mod Phenderix Magic Evolved. This mod, however, improves upon these spells and adds many new spells to the game. 

WHERE TO FIND THEM
These spells can be obtained from vendors in The School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Manantis, and in Dragonsreach.
As you level up your magic skills, you will find that vendors offer more spell tomes to choose from.
Most spell tomes must be purchased from vendors, however, there are some tomes that can only be acquired by completing boss encounters.

If you would like to cheat to obtain the spells added by this mod, there is a cheat chest in Whiterun's Dragonsreach near Farengar.
You will still have to earn the spell tomes dropped by bosses. (or use the console's help function)

MAGIC SCALING
Many of the offensive spells added by this mod scale with enchantments and perks that affect the vanilla fire, frost, and shock magic types.
This allows you to use your favorite spells throughout the game to varying degrees of effectiveness.

This mod adds 20 new types of arrows/bolt to the game. These new ammo types can be equipped like standard vanilla ammo.

NEW ARROW AND BOLT TYPES
Each new ammo type below has three variants with increasing levels of damage. (Rank I, II, III)

Fire - causes a fiery explosion
Frost - causes an icy explosion, slows targets
Lightning - causes a shock explosion, damages Health and Magicka
Fear - causes targets to be struck with fear
Paralysis - causes targets to be paralyzed
Frenzy - causes targets to enter a state of frenzy
Earth - causes targets to be shaken on impact, damages Health and Stamina
Darkness - causes an explosion of darkness to damage targets and weaken their fire resistance
Poison - causes targets to be afflicted by a long-lasting poison
Water - causes an explosion of water to damage targets and weaken their shock/lightning resistance
Wind - causes stagger/knockback
Divine - causes divine damage
Skeletal- summons a warrior upon impact
Blood - causes blood damage
Calm - causes targets to enter a state of calm

LEGENDARY AMMUNITION
Glacial Strike - an icy flurry with a rather forceful impact
Inferno Blast - incinerate a large area with a fiery inferno
Eternal Black - sap a target with black fire until their soul is destroyed
Legendary ammunition types only have 1 rank.

CRAFTING GUIDE
Rank I arrows/bolts - Firewood / Steel Ingot
Rank II arrows/bolts - 3x Rank I arrows/bolts
Rank III arrows/bolts - 3x Rank II arrows/bolts
Legendary ammunition is composed of Rank III arrows/bolts.
The Steel Smithing perk is required to craft these arrows and bolts.

WHERE TO FIND THEM
This new ammo is sold by vendors in Manantis (Ex: Legolai on Oromis Isle, Pointed Fletching Shop) and by a vendor in Dragonsreach. They can also be crafted. There is also a cheat chest near Farengar in Dragonsreach containing 20,000 of all arrows/bolts. (Another option - use the console's help function)






This mod adds new unarmed elemental weapons that can be used by the player and NPCs. It allows for elemental martial arts fighting.

NEW UNARMED ELEMENTS
Fire - causes fire damage
Frost - causes damage to Health and slows movement and attack speed
Lightning - causes damage to Health and Magicka
Poison - causes damage over time
Paralysis - causes paralysis (does not scale in effect, can be absorbed)
Earth - causes damage to health and stamina
Water - causes water damage
Wind - causes less damage than other elements but is faster and has farther reach
Darkness - causes darkness damage

These elements are equipped as normal weapons, like a sword, but the wearer will still appear to be unarmed.

Their base damage scales with One-Handed enchantments and perks. Magical damage and visual effect scale as you level up One-Handed.
These weapons will level up One-Handed as you use them.

EFFECT LEVEL THRESHOLDS
First Level
 - 0 One-Handed
Second Level - 50 One-Handed
Third Level - 75 One-Handed
Fourth Level - 100 One-Handed
After you pass a threshold, elemental damage, and visual effect increases.

WHERE TO FIND THEM
These weapons are sold by vendors in Manantis (Ex: Shenari in The Wandering Magician, The Knockout Shop) and by a vendor in Dragonsreach. There is also a cheat chest near Farengar in Dragonsreach containing all of these items. (Another option - use the console's help function)



This mod adds a variety of new magical artifacts, legendary weapons, staves, and items to the game.
Magical Artifacts - rings and amulets that boosts stats
Location: Scattered throughout content added by this mod.

Excaliblade - a mythical sword set in stone that has been unmoved for centuries, causes the user to feel..."saiyan-like" ;)
Location: Near the entrance of Azkalin Prison (must be above level 50 to acquire)

Brisinblue - a magic sword that unleashes blue fire upon its target
Location: Owned by Shraken, can loot from corpse

Naegrand - a magic greatsword that burns targets with golden fire
Location: Owned by Araglag, can loot from corpse

Tamerlina - a magic sword that blasts targets with green magical energy
Location: Owned by Colossus, can loot from corpse

Vandilight - a magic sword that consumes targets in white fire
Location: Owned by The Soul Taker, can loot from corpse

Volundix - a magic axe that electrifies targets
Location: Owned by The Lord of Shadows, can loot from corpse

Vrangra - a magic sword that shrouds targets in darkness
Location: Owned by Galbatrick, can loot from corpse

Zar'rook- a magic sword that scorches enemies with crimson fire
Location: Owned by Embris, can loot from corpse

This mod also adds 15 staves to the game that cast Phenderix spells. They can be bought from Hergrid at the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry or from the Staves of Power shop located in the town of Manantis.



There are no quests in Phenderix Magic Reloaded due to Sony's modding restrictions on PS4.

This mod is based on Phenderix Magic World for PC and XB1. There are some differences in the versions released on these platforms.
The differences on PS4 arise from Sony's decision to not allow external assets in mods for Skyrim Special Edition.

Blood spells damaging the caster.
Divine spells healing the caster.
Elemental Martial Arts Elements: "Hand - Divine" and "Hand - Blood"
Hand weapons having associated explosions on impact. (They still have FX shaders but just simply don't look as cool)

Q: How is this mod different from Phenderix Magic World?
This mod has all of the content from the PC/XB1 version of Phenderix Magic World except for content that could not be published to PS4 because of reliance on external assets which is not allowed by Sony. Some spells, items, locations, and other aspects of this mod had to be changed to allow for release on PS4.

Q: Why not just update your existing mod Phenderix Magic World on PS4?
Due to the new system requiring users to install 2 files(Part 1 and Part 2), I didn't want there to be confusion as the old version was just one file. I also wanted the name to be different to highlight that the PS4 version of Magic World is not the same as the XB1/PC versions, hence me calling it Phenderix Magic Reloaded [PMR].

Q: Will this mod receive updates?
Yes. Because of the new two-part mod system for PMR, I will be able to easily publish updates to PMR. These updates will include some of the new content I add to the PC and XB1 versions of Phenderix Magic World.

Q: Should I use Phenderix Magic World, Magic Evolved, Arcane Archery, or Elemental Fighter with this mod?
A: No. You should uninstall those mods and only use PMR.

Q: Why did you spend so much time making a custom exclusive mod for PS4 when you don't even own a PS4?
I've made this version because I am deeply appreciative of all of the support my prior publications have gotten on PS4.  See this release as a gift for all the love the PS4 community has shown my mods on forum threads and YouTube videos.

Q: Can I make a patch for PMR and release it on PS4?
Sure, feel free to create as many patches as you want! If you would like to make a patch for PMR, please download the version here on Skyrim Nexus and use both ESP files as master files for your patch. The version on Skyrim Nexus should be identical to the PS4 version on Bethesda.net.
Q: All of my NPCs added by PMR have black or messed up faces. How do I fix this?
A: Unfortunately it is impossible to fix this and a bug common across all PS4 mods. 

Q: Does this mod make any changes to Skyrim's Worldspace?
A: No. (Besides 1 small portal near Whiterun).

Q: Does this mod make any changes to perks?
A: No.

Q: Does this mod make any changes to vanilla leveled lists?
A: No.

Q: Why is this mod not named Phenderix Magic World as it has almost the same content?
A: I wanted there to be a different name as the mod is significantly different from the PC/XB1 versions of Phenderix Magic World. The "Reloaded" part comes from the fact that I haven't published a PS4 mod in a long time. I am returning to the PS4 modding scene in a big way.

Q: Where is the Skyrim School of Witchcraft and Wizardry? Are there any changes near Markarth?
A: The Skyrim School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is now located in Manantis. This mod does not make any changes to the Skyrim worldspace near Markarth.

Q: Is this mod lore-friendly?
A: Yes, it is lore friendly-ish...it really just depends on how you define it. Obviously, these new locations and spells don't exist in Tamriel lore. If you think a certain aspect of the mod is not lore-friendly then simply don't use that portion. Please check out the Lore Friendly Patch if you so wish!

Q: Is this mod compatible with "Insert Perk Mod Here"?
A: This mod should be compatible with every perk mod. However, perks that change anything magic-related may not affect spells added by this mod. If you would like increased compatibility or synergy with a perk mod, please leave a comment letting me know]

Q: Dialogue isn't working, what's wrong?
A: Make sure you have subtitles enabled in the options menu. All Magic Reloaded dialogue is text only, no voiced dialogue for now. If you are still having issues with dialogue options popping up, save the game and reload - sometimes this fixes the problem. Lastly, try reinstalling this mod.
