Mod Configuration Menu with the Vanilla User Interface

  • Comment

SkyUI is the most endorsed mod on all of the Nexus sites, and with the addition of the Mod Configuration Menu (MCM) it has become even more essential on most peoples Skyrim mod list. However there are people who still prefer the original games UI and for them the lack of the MCM is a major setback.

But have no fear, the SkyUI team thought of that and have provided a way for everyone to enjoy the advantages of MCM.

Why do I need to have the vanilla interface with MCM? Also, is Nexus Mod Manager compatible with SkSE, MCM etc.? Thank you, Ruben.

Even though i've installed SKSE, and triple checked that i did it right based on the video, and have the latest version of it, when i start skyrim (through the SKSE loader.exe) and load a save i still get an error 1 message saying SKSE version isnt the latest and skyUi wont work properly.. I have tried reinstalling SKSE and SkyUi but i still get the error. Im not sure what to do. Can anyone offer me some solutions? (i would also liek to point out that after the error pops up, the MCM does not appear, but the skyUI menu does.)

Remember to run SKSE as administrator.Rick-click > properties and check 'run as admin'
Now start SKSE and it should work out fine.

you need to use the skse loader.exe you should find it in your skyrim files where you installed skse.

I also use a xbox controller and like the original UI. So with this I can try out MCM.

I am very glad that the SkyUI team has created this to cater to those of us who prefer a simpler menu system, but who also can't live without the ingenious MCM system. I used SkyUI since transitioning from the console (PS3) version of Skyrim nearly a month ago. There is no doubt that it is a wonderful menu system, and has some distinct advantages (excellent sorting/filtering). For me, personally, it was a bit too cumbersome in daily use, but I couldn't revert back to the Vanilla menu without losing my precious MCM. So, in short, this gives me exactly what I am looking for in my Skyrim experience!
