Gopher, I have two questions that are only tangentially related to your videos, but I've been meaning to ask for a while:
First, what in game FOV do you play/record these videos at? Is it the default game FOV?
Second, do you experience really bad frame rate drops in certain places on Ultra, such as the Riften Jarl's interior, or Riften's underside (ie, the place where you have to go in order to continue the main quest and free a certain spoiler-free prisoner)?
@njits Yeah, but it was in my first ever playthrough and until recently I had not done a heavy armor playthrough again. So I basically could barely remember what it looked like.
I run with my ShadowMapResolution at 4096 and see no performance hit on my crappy rig (AMD 6970 + 965BE processor), and the shadows are much better. If you don't like the pop in of the shadows you can increase the ShadowDistance to 3500 and the shadows should still be fairly crisp as well.
I tried leaving this on your youtube page but comment formatting is... dumb >
@Gopher: Will it be possible for you to feature Climates of Tamriel by jjc? For some reason it's not showing up on the site's latest files. Anyway, great video as always. I end up trying out all the mods you showcase.

You can get MUCH crisper shadows with no performance impact using something like:
iBlurDeferredShadowMask=20
fInteriorShadowDistance=2000.0000
fShadowDistance=2000.0000
iShadowMapResolutionSecondary=2048
iShadowMapResolutionPrimary=2048
fShadowLODStartFade=200.0000
iShadowMode=4
bTreesReceiveShadows=1
bDrawLandShadows=1
bShadowMaskZPrepass=1
iShadowMapResolution=2048
fShadowBiasScale=0.2400
iShadowMaskQuarter=4
iShadowFilter=4
