Skyrim Mod Sanctuary 22 : The Asteria

  • Comment

I released an extra video this week in honour of a truly brilliant mod: The Asteria. This unique player home rocketed into the Nexus hot files recently, and is now a worthy contender for the File of the Month. Join me as I take my first tour of this incredible mod.

And you felt the need to edit out what's possibly one of the mildest curse words in the English language for "the younger viewers" on a video that's for a game rated M for Mature because why? Not to mention it was a situationally sound use of the word; it's not like you exaggerated and put it there "to be cool".

Regarding the format of this vid, Gopher, it was good. Thx for letting me perch on your shoulder as you explored the Asteria. However, 6TemplaR9 is right, if you liked this 1, dust off oblivion and install the Flying Dwemer Skyship mod. It wasn't as fancy as this 1, but had all the needs for oblivion, was flyable, and had a parachute you could wear to drift down from your ship, or use to to BASE jump from any high point which you had access to.

I think this is an excellent mod, and I'll see if it will run without a zillion ctd's, I'd rather play th vanilla game than reload every 15 minutes.

And you got my +1 for the vid, Gopher.

That is most likely a mod conflict. Also if you choose the Stormcloaks in the beginning you should be following Ralof and not Hadvar, so you may want to make sure you went through the right door.

Brilliant! Thanks Gopher - I thought the format was a lot of fun, and, once in a while, a great tour, like this one, would be most welcome.

    Cheers!

The quest for this should involve a "magically preserved" dwarf you either fight or befriend. If you befriend he could be on the ship as the steward!

    Great mod though, very cool!

Hey Gopher has Dark0ne ever made mention of different "Mod of the Month" categories? We should have armor, weapon, house, item etc. Different types of mods and different preferrences should be seperated. A more "fair" way to look at mod voting.

Just saying! I'd help if asked!

I had trouble with this mod concerning starting a new game. During the intro sequence when you have to choose between following the imperial or the stormcloak into the fortress, I chose the stormcloak. When I entered the fortress, I appeared behind the entrance door and was stuck. To fix that I turned around and fell into the giant blue abyss, which tossed me in front of the door where I should have been. When inside, I noticed that the gate you need to open after your first fight was missing it's surrounding fixture of cell bars (the cell door was floating, I could just go around it). After the door was opened, Hadvir would walk through the door and say "C'mon, this way." then stop and remain there for the rest of the time. I don't know if this has been fixed yet, just making people aware. I have other mods, but when I turned off only this mod (The Asteria) everything was back to normal.

    Hey Gopher.
What program do you use for recording? Fraps, Dxtory? I wonder, because I have asynchron audio with Fraps when I record. I'm still testing Dxtory, I can't open the most created files properly with normal media players :/ And I don't want to import them in my editing program first.

Parachutes? OMG someone has to port that into Skyrim!
