Skyrim

Editorial: Video Blog on recent community events and CK information

  • Comment

I've been meaning to write an editorial or blog about the recent events in the Nexus community since Skyrim's launch and also to cover a few points regarding Bethesda's recent announcement on their plans for the Creation Kit and their Steam Workshop integration. However, I'm in the process of moving house right now and have come across the webcam I lost when I moved in 2 years previously, so I thought I'd put two-and-two together and try my hand at doing a video blog.

It's completely no frills, no edits, no cuts and there aren't any visual aids. It is, literally, me talking in to a camera for 37 minutes so if you're looking for flashy logos or video clips of me playing Skyrim then I'm afraid you're going to be disappointed -- it's 37 mins of my ugly mug talking to you.

I've never done a video blog before so go easy on me! I've been packing up things all day and currently sleeping on the floor so don't expect much, but expect something...because it's me!

just got a email back from steam about modding with steam, it is all free and the bad mods that crash you're game will be removed upon reporting them, beta mods will only stay uploaded for 4 months then they will be removed if they are buggy and not updated by then. and modders with voice acted mods will be posted as first priority, this will be a great service, that the nexus will hopefully provide soon after, if not then steam will be way better to add mods too. look out new era of modding is finally on the horizon. im so excited.

    Excellent video!

I wish more community leaders would do exactly what you've done.

To give my opinion on what content should or should not be uploaded; I would have to say this all falls in to the realm of freedom of expression. And the only way to fully understand the philosophy and sociology behind it all is to have a degree in Art History.

Nevertheless, continue to be relatively unbiased and improve the tools to allow us to police our selves democratically and republicly so you don't victimize yourself into becoming a dictator.

Power to you bro and good luck with your move!

Thanks for the video blog. Really informative, especially for someone like me who is a much more casual mod user (UI mods, small graphical mods, etc...)

This site cannot be replaced with any steam gaffa-on, and you are a hero of the internet. The very fact that you've (and any others in your corner of course) have kept something so useful running through the intense pressure of Skyrim "making it big", and the inlux of random retar...new users since it's success, is a testamente to hard work, willpower and more than a bit of grit.

Also, the community on these sites and it's absolute focus on "to each his own" and the nix put on randomly and negatively ranting on other people's work has, through the years, made me a better and much less hostile internet user, and I salute you for it

Freedom of speech, freedom of content, nexus since Morrowind, nexus forever.
