Embershard Cottage is located between Riverwood and Embershard Mine. It has everything you need to start your adventure in Skyrim.

UNIQUE CONTAINERS:
All of the storage containers in the cottage are unique. So you can go into the Creation Kit and add items to any container in the house, without having them show up in every other container of that type. This is useful if you want to give your character a particular item (including items added by mods).
REAL SHELTER VERSION:
An optional version is available for use with Real Shelter so you can relax on your porch even when it's raining.
OBTAINING THE KEY:
You can find the former owner inside Embershard Mine. Go ahead and take the key from him -- he won't be needing it anymore.
