You know, I think it would have been better for the story if the Dragons weren't numerous, but rather were limited to seven or so supremely powerful winged death machines, each with their own, unique methods of attempting to ''deal'' with the Dragonborn. It honestly felt like Bethesda was going for the generic MMO-esque 'radiant quest' monster battle, and didn't think any further than that.
Would you happen to know what, if any, records I could delete in zEdit to make mod-added dragons not talk? Immersive Creatures adds mechanical dragons as well as undead human/dragon hybrids that use the voice lines with this mod added. Being mechanical and skeletons, they probably shouldn't talk...
It depends on the voice they use. Any NPC with crDragonVoice will talk. You can either change the voice of those dragons, or add conditions to the dialogue lines to exclude any NPC with that voice you don’t want to talk.
1. Load xEdit and locate my mod. Expand Dialog Topic and all 3 categories within. 2. Select all records from the first category (13 records, from FEXXX801 to FEXXX810), right click, and choose Copy as override into.... In the new window scroll down and select a new file with an .esp extension and an ESL flag. Give it a good name so you know what it is. 3. Copy the remaining records from my mods to the new file (4 records in 2 categories, FEXXX804, and then FEXXX813, 814, 815). 4. Right click on your new fine on the list on the left, and choose Add masters.... Then select all files with NPCs you don’t want to talk. 5. Click on one of the newly copied entries and look to the right side. Find Conditions. 6. Right click on Conditions and choose add. Expand the newly added condition. 7. You want it to look like this, where the NPC is the one that shouldn’t speak dragon lines. 8. Repeat for all NPCs, and all records. Once you’ve done one record in a category, you can select multiple and drag newly added conditions to the others.
Well if you just want the named dragons to talk, then you don’t need this mod at all, as far as I can tell, all vanilla named dragons talk – that’s where I got the lines from. You need USLEEP for Mirmulnir to talk though, he doesn’t have proper sound files in a vanilla game.
Well this is a small mod and I wanted to keep it standalone and script-free, adding an MCM would make it require SKSE and SkyUI; I don’t think it’s worth it for such a small feature. What I can do though is change the conditions to depend on a global variable, which you can then set to 0 using the console. But that’d come with a more significant update (new voice lines).
you give too good answers can i hire you to talk for me? xD haha <3 thank you for your time gg :)
cant think of anything else and since u like it simple this is it for this mod i might give it a try when i upgrade my pc again (not that this is anything like performance heavy just that i have a potato pc xD and just dont using it cuz i like many dragon on my screens and all of talking is too much for me :) for the random reader :P )
