    What's Next?!
    For now, I consider this mod complete, but I may or may not come back to add more updates!

    To see what I'm currently working on, check my profile page!
    I'll try to keep it up to-date, but I might forget~ haha ;)

    TBH I'm not sure if these will happen, because I'd like to eventually *gasp* actually play the game! haha So.. We'll see! ;)

    Plans for v2.3 Update...
    - Saddle Merchant NPC?
    - New mesh for draft foals? Maybe.
    - Fix any clipping found on bardings.
    - Make neck armor on barding just a little taller/wider so manes clip less.
    - Add manes back to maneless horses.
    - Maybe make horse armor into actual cloth/light/heavy armors, so what their wearing affects sprint stamina? (does that work on horses?)

    Plans for v2.4 Update...
    - Horse scavenger hunt! So you can actually find all the unique ones!

    And someday maybe?
    - Learn how to make FOMOD installer.
    - Make a patch for 'Vanilla horse meshes only'?

    (And Name Meanings for funzies and fascinating history lessons!)

    Whiterun Herd - Just west of WR. Follow the road past the guard tower and youll see them on the right.

    Snow Herd - Near Snow Veil Sanctum. Just to the.. South-East I think?

    Aruna - Mare near Pelagia farm, just outside Whiterun.
    Just a name that means 'Reddish-Brown haired.'

    Haukiyah - Mare near Hhlalu farm, just outside Windhelm.
    To me, Dunmer names sound Hawaiian... This is a Hawaiian name meaning 'Snow'.

    Hrimfaxi - Mare near.. uh. Whoever's place is outside of Markarth.
    In Norse mythology, Skinfaxi and Hrímfaxi are the horses of Dagr (day) and Nótt (night).

    Shadhavar/Aras - In TES lore, unicorns are sometimes brought to Tamriel by Hircine.
    Glenmoril Coven is the only location in Skyrim with a shrine to Hircine. The unicorns are wandering just outside.
    Shâd'havâr or Âras, is a legendary creature from medieval Muslim bestiaries resembling a unicorn.

    Khione - Spectral water/ice horse, under the bridge to the College of Winterhold.
    Ancient Greek: Chion, meaning "snow", and the name of several Greek mythological goddesses.

    Farran - Starter horse in the whiterun stables.
    Derived from the Old French word 'Ferrant' which meant iron-grey.

    Abaddon & Azazel - Companion horses, outside the secret passage from the undercroft. Ownership based on companion rank.
    The Hebrew term Avaddon, meaning "doom".
    Azazel is a fallen angel from the Book of Enoch.

    Mielikki - Froki's horse, just outside Froki's shack.
    Mielikki is the Finnish goddess of forests and the hunt.

    Laverna & Eris - Thieves Guild horses. Ownership based on TG rank.
    In Roman mythology, Laverna was a goddess of thieves, cheats and the underworld.
    Eris is a Greek goddess of chaos.

    Bzrathzgar - Calcemo's horse, near Markarth stables.
    Dwemer name generator.. because .. dwemer.

    Falhofnir & Morvark - Forsworn horses in Karthspire Camp.
    In Norse mythology, Falhófnir is a horse ridden by the gods when they go to make judgements at Yggdrasil.
    Morvarc'h (Breton for "sea horse") is the name of a horse of Breton legend. In the legend Morvarc'h is described as having a black coat and breaths flames through its nostrils and has the ability to gallop on the waves. In Skyrim, he's just a normal horse with dragonbone armor. But the legend sounds cool, so maybe someday he'll get converted into another 'special' horse! :o We'll see!!

    Wesley - Dawnguard horse, just east of Icewater Jetty (The boat to Castle Volkihar), wandering around a dead dawnguard soldier.
    This horse is an easter egg! Wesley is the name of the actor who played Blade. ;)

    Dandelion & Hathor - Bard's horses, just outside the entrance to Solitude. Ownership based on bard's college membership.
    Dandelion is another easter egg. This one should be pretty easy, but if you don't know who the bard Dandelion is, shame on you! Witcher is one of the best games out there, go play it! Maybe start with Witcher 2, because 1 is pretty dated.. Or at least play 3. CD Projekt Red are absolutely the best and most non-corrupt game devs in existance. Support them! Anyways, back on track!
    Hathor is the Egyption goddess of music, dance and joy.

    Veles - Nightengale's horse, outside Twilight Sepulcher, after Nightingale Hall has been restored.
    Veles also known as Volos, is a Slavic underworld god, associated with the souls of deceased ancestors. During the yearly celebration of Velja Noc, Veles sends the souls of the dead out into the world of men as his messengers.

    Freyja - Forsworn horse, near the stables of Fort Sungard.
    In Norse mythology, Freyja (Old Norse for "(the) Lady") is a goddess associated with war, death, love, sex, beauty, fertility, gold, and seiðr(Norse sorcery for shaping/telling the future).

    Charon - Undead horse behind the hall of the dead in Falkreath.
    In Greek mythology, Charon or Kharon is the ferryman of Hades who carries souls of the newly deceased across the rivers Styx and Acheron that divided the world of the living from the world of the dead.

      List of REF IDs for people like me, who have a bad habit of leaving their horse somewhere and then forgetting where they parked. Use the command prid (REF ID) and moveto player to find a lost horse! Or maybe you just want to find these horses the easy way, by using the console command player.moveto (REF ID). Note that Veles/Volos does not spawn until after you complete the Nightingale questline.

      Love Frost, never thought anyone could make him better. Been playing this game since first release and Slof's Frost and saddle stole my heart, like I stole him. Thank you so very much, very good work.

    Hi, I don't mean to bother, but would you be willing to do a version that makes the "warmblood" style horses use the "light horse" model, please? :') I love love love this mod and I would be over the moon if I could have light horses and drafts instead of warmbloods. <3 please? I've been trying to fiddle with it myself for private use, but the warmbloods-gone-light horse model horses show not having manes.

    -Farran doesn't fight or run, just stands there tanking damage.  Worse, enemies always target him over me or a follower.
    -When I try to equip only a bridle as per the instructions, it instead equips the full default saddle set, no matter what bridle I choose.  Can't ride bareback with just a bridle.
    -Something is off with aiming from horseback (archery).  The shots always seem to land below the target reticle, adjusting for reasonable distance.
    -Tried killing the Noble and his Imperial guard.  Killed both, but the Noble's horse apparently 'remembers' the crime, and can't be killed.  It slowly walked toward Solitude and even using 'kill' in the console didn't work.
    -If I take Farran outside Whiterun, make it mine with the console (setownership), then steal a named horse somewhere else and also make it mine with the console, Farran walks back to Whiterun.  But if I take Farran, claim it with the console, and then *purchase* a second horse somewhere else, they both stay put where I leave them.

    Shadhavar and Aras aren't parkable, there's no option for them to stay. Is there any way to change that?

      If you're using a horse management mod, it should override that. :o do you have convenient horses or immersive horses?

      I figured it out, sorry! I have too many parked horses. I guess there's a limit setting somewhere. I have as many horses as I could find (the wilds and a bunch of named ones, and the unique colors) parked in the courtyard outside the gates of Solitude. I do have both of those mods, though. Would they make a difference? I released the unnamed, duplicates, and the Guard Horses to make room for my hoarding problem. xD

    Hi there! Absolutely love this mod, but I've run into a slight issue... I'm trying to tame Charon. I've got "Tame the Beasts of Skyrim II" installed (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50698/), and I've used its "tame horse" spell to tame several of your horses already. But the spell goes right through Charon! And, even worse, if I just hop on him (or any horse, come to think of it) without using the "tame horse" spell, my current horse keels over dead! I've tried poking around in the creation kit with your mod to try to make Charon corporeal, but so far nothing's worked. Any ideas? Would you maybe be willing to make a patch for this? I'll try to find a workaround in the meantime. Thanks!

      oh dear o.o; I'm not sure what could cause this, but whatever it is is probably beyond the scope of this mod. D: All this mod does is add the horses, it doesn't edit or add any systems to make them into player horses so not sure what to suggest. @.@

      Oh wow, thanks for getting back to me so quickly! ^_^ I'm just wondering if it's possible to make an optional file where Charon (and any other ghost horses) are corporeal (rather than ghostly, or "ethereal" as it's called in the game), so I can hit them with the spell? That should solve the problem just fine. :)

    Hi nyphani - You did offer in your description to take a look at other horse mods :). Light Horses just got ported from SE but not by the author.  This has an .esp.  I do like the textures of this mod but LO with More Horses is a question.  I have More Horses after Immersive Horses and Arvak Replacer after MH.

      To use Light Horses, get the patch under misc files Allow Vanilla Retextures, both loaded after MH. This should let you use light horse's vanilla horses, and MH extra horses. :)

    I love all the horses this mod adds, but I don't like that it overwrites the Immersive Horses textures for the vanilla horses. Is there a way to add all the new horses but not replace the vanilla textures?

      Yes, there is a patch under Misc Files: Allow Vanilla Retextures :)

      I also want to make the textures of the horses immersive, can you please help me with this ?? I don't know how to use the right mods folder so I don't know how to make the horse's textures immersible ;-;

      Load immersive horses, then more horses, then vanilla retectures patch, then your player horses should have the textures from IH.

    Looks very good.  You have included several popular items from various horse mods into one.

    In a heavily modded game there is likely to be more aggressive predators, more monsters, and more dragon attacks.  Are the herds essential or will they get killed off (a shame)?

    To start off awesome mod just have one question I don't know if it's been asked before and I apologize if it has but does this add the ability to create your own horse herd or do you need another mod do that

      You would need another mod for that. This mod just adds the horses, it doesn't have anything set up to change ownerships or home locations, to keep it more compatible with other horse management mods! Convenient Horse Herding might be what you're looking for, but I'm sure there's other's as well!

    The Riften guard horse can be taken for free in contrast to other holds' guard horses.
