About this mod

Mesh and texture patches to fix the goofy glow-in-the-dark effect on various bits of mod-added jewelry. I'll add more over time, so use the "Track" feature to get notices of added files.

This is (or will be) a collection of patches to various mods to fix the very silly-looking "my jewelry is radioactive and glows in the dark" effect of incorrect specularity, emissiveness, environment mapping, and other settings that plague various items of mod-added jewelry (often eyes and weapons, too, though those are other sets of fixes for another time).

I've done a bunch of these fixes, but in my own game in a merged gear mod. It'll take a while to tease out what I did for which mod and repackage them as patches for others' installation, so use the Track button above to keep track of this page and be notified (sorta) of added files later. (I don't think you get actual notices delivered to you, but will see an "Updated" tag when you see this mod page in a list of mods on Nexus).

The patches will usually just be a set of replacement mesh files (either for the game's "Data\Meshes\" folder directly, for "Data\CalienteTools\BodySlide\ShapeData\", or both), though occasionally some tweaked texture files will also be included.

Patches Available So Far

  • Graviczapa Desert Dancer.  Fixes excessive glow on various jewelry items and the turban (the jeweled bits on the other clothing were fine).  Original mod and its UUNP BodySlides are here. Original mod requires: SKSE, HDT Physics Extensions, Realistic Ragdolls and Force, XPMSE Skeleton.
    • For even more Graviczapa Desert Dancer tweaks, see here.

  • DEM Burlesque.  Fixes glow-in-the-dark garters.  You'll need either the original mod (for the special Lilith/Demonica body), or either the UUNP or CBBE BodySlide sets (which include all necessary resources); none are hosted on Nexus, but are easily located via Google, etc.  Use Google Translate as needed (original mod and its release pages are Russian).  Original mod and BodySlide sets require: SKSE, HDT Physics Extensions, and probably XPMSE Skeleton.

Boilerplate

I claim no credit for anything but twiddling some numbers in NIF files and tweaking some textures; all real credit goes to the original authors of the mods.  I add no additional restrictions of any kind beyond those that may be imposed by the original authors, on a mod-by-mod basis.

It's been brought to my attention that Karter's DEM Burlesque used some resources from Daz3D.com (namely the underlying meshes for the dress, bustle, and hat), and may not have had permission to do so.  This has nothing to do with the garter I've patched, which is a simple and rather generic mesh that appears to have been created by Karter; it bears no resemblance to the garters in the original Daz3D package that included the meshes used as the basis for that outfit's dress and bustle.  Similarly, someone claimed that Graviczapa restricts her mods and requires written permission for asset use/patching. This is a false claim; her mods (including this one specifically) require permission for wholesale re-uploading to other sites as complete outfit mods, but her "Permissions" page is very clear that patches require no such prior permission; the entire page is a screed against restrictive permissions, since most of what Grav does is patches of others' mods.  Similarly, as to Karter's garter: Karter also requires prior permission for redistribution of his mods as complete outfits (and only at one of his two distribution sites, for that matter), but not for asset patching.

In short, I am not going to add any glow-reduction patches here that have copyright problems.
