Alright, finally managed to fix the issue. If anyone else is having problems with the trees showing up as black patches on their world map, edit DynDOLOD_TES5_BentPinesesp.ini so the last LOD Variable is set to 16 rather than 8. (It should look like this)
You may also need to Add this line to your Skyrim.ini
[MapMenu] uLockedObjectMapLOD=32
And change the
Level32=0
To
Level32=1
In your Dyndolod_Tes5.ini file.
I'm interested to hear why the final LOD variable was set to 8 instead of 16, if it hadn't been, I wouldn't have needed to spend so much time figuring out what was wrong. Anyway, Great mod, love the trees and now that this issue is taken care of I can finally get back to enjoying Skyrim with some new decorations.
Hi! The trees look absolutely perfect and beautiful but for some reason, LODs aren't working. I run DyndoLOD as usual but still, my game loads the trees only when I get close to them. I wouldn't mind if these were normal-sized trees but since they're pretty huge I really would like to get DyndoLOD to work. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?
Hello, good day to everyone especially if you're feeling down due to how this year treats everyone, seek someone to talk too. So anyway, if some of u people are like me, struggled to make LODs to work for this mod or only know to use the automatic preset on dyndolod, I have a quick and WRONG WAY to make them trees visible from afar.
Open xedit (if u don't have it already, then get it now) through Mod Organiser, right click from the list of esps and select none, then double click BentPines.esp. Wait for it to finish loading. From the left pane, navigate by clicking the plus sign beside the BentPines.esp then hit the plus sign beside Worldspace. Just click the plus sign until there is no more to be expanded, now that is the record of the tree added by this mod. Double click that. At the right pane, look for Record Flags, double click the space beside it, there will be a warning just hit ok. u will see a dropdown list, choose "Persistent" and "Visible when distant". Don't tick "Is Full LOD", i repeat don't tick "Is Full LOD", it will make the trees only visible from very far and vanish when near, don't make the same mistake I did and save some time. Repeat for all 11 trees remaining (there is a total of 12). When u're done, exit and save.
Voila! Now you can bask in the glory and beauty of the bent pines from afar. Just a disclaimer, I believe the trees will be rendered fully all the time, so there might be a performance hit, and CTDs unlikely, there are only 12 trees so issues should be very minimal.
TLDR: Don't know how to make LODs? Open esp on xedit, set Record Flags of all 12 trees to "Persistent" and "Visible when distant". Profit.
Pic for proof (don't know how to add pics here, also sorry for the low texture quality hehe) https://imgur.com/hy7LA2O
just upload the .esp somewhere or send it to me via email (vurt72 at gmail.com) and i can share it with people on my page, with credits to you for the edit.
great mod, but i have a question, vurt. I setted fTreeLoadDistance=25000.0000 so trees load far away, but this pine only loads when im near. the game doest understand this as a tree? can i change it to load a little bit more far away? thank you
Q: Does it come with LOD's? A: Yes it comes with 3D LOD's to be generated by e.g dyndolod (please search youtube for instructions, it's not hard to create LOD's)

LOOT 0.16.1 finds 1 ITM Record.
Should we clean the mod?

It's way better to try to get the LOD's to work (it can be done ;) ).
Persistent I thought was for packages and quests and such
