Report of Bug, or something you might like to put onto your description page. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In the ini file that comes with this mod, it has the following lines;
[CustomNames] ;choose up to five different name templates to be assigned to ashpiles at random. default_ashpiles_01 = [NPC_NAME]'s [ASHPILE_NAME] default_ashpiles_02 = The [ASHPILE_NAME] formerly known as [NPC_NAME] default_ashpiles_03 = What remains of [NPC_NAME] default_ashpiles_04 = [ASHPILE_NAME] ([NPC_NAME]) default_ashpiles_05 = [NPC_NAME] : [ASHPILE_NAME]
I didn't want 5 message variations, I just wanted the 1 message for the ashpiles, so I put a comment (using a semi-colon) in front of "default_ashpiles_02 - 05", then tried loading the game. However, this causes the game to crash when loading Skyrim. It CTD's before it gets to the title screen.
I assume the mod expects all 5 lines to be there, and if some are commented out, then the game will crash. As a work-around, I can just uncomment the lines and just make each line say the same thing. But maybe put something in the ini file, or the description page of this mod to say, "Ensure you have all 5 lines uncommented, otherwise the game will crash", in case other players experience the same thing and don't realize what is going wrong.
My mates and I are coming up with a compilation of funny Ashpile names:
+ No longer <Name> + Recently vaporized <Name> + Post-encounter <Name> + Seenbettertimes <Name> + “Poof” went <Name> + “Not looking well” <Name> + Medium rare <Name> + <Name> is having a difficult time + <Name>'s Icarus cosplay + One-with-the-wind-<Name> + <Name> should've stayed home + Milk-drinker <Name> can no longer milk-drink + <Name> doesn't feel so good + <Name> doesn't want to go + Post-snap <Name>
Great job, mate. The meme potential is infinite :DDD
+ Ironically, <Name> didn't believe in spontaneous human combustion. + Make a joint out of this. + <Name> is worm food. + <Name> learned the hard way not to screw with the Dragonborn. + Another one bites the dust. + <Name> now identifies as Muesli. + You're looking at your future, Dragonborn. + Try this on your cornflakes. + <Name> is now as dry as grandma's beaver. + <Name> found an extreme way to hide from his girlfriend! + Funnily enough, <Name> wished this upon his mother-in-law. + Snort me! Free sample of Skyrim Cocaine. Contact your local Khajit for resupply options. + Meep Meep! Bird seed for Road Runner.
First sentence of description says ash piles given names to reflect who they belong to. Further down it says ash pile names picked at random from a list of 5 names. So which is it? If an elk gets reanimated by a vampire and then disintegrates after the vampire dies (the most annoying way to get ash piles) does it say ‘elk’ pile or one of the five names gets assigned? Clarification por favor?
Thx, very nice idea mod, but i get some serious CTD :( I kiII great group of enemies (wampires and they summons) with fire speIIs (asp,Igos) and when i Ioot ashes i get ctd, when i kiII same enemy party with Iighting or ice speIIs no crash. Man im angry bcs i want this MOD !!!
Would be interested if this is reported by others (and I hope it's not a common problem). I was having a lot of ash-pile issues several weeks ago, then installed a mod that auto-deletes them all after a few game hours, and the problem has stopped (but also changed some other stuff; I took away a custom follower's mod-provided zombie spell, etc.).
I really like the sound of this mod (it drives me nuts that I can't tell victim ash piles apart from junk my peeps summoned), but am leery of touching anything relating to ash piles again.

If you want only one message, change all the name templates to use the same name instead.
