Check the videos, screenshots do no justice to the mod.
(Edit) May 31 2020 The SKSE dll plugin "Glow Be Gone" for some reason kills some of the effects of this mod, such as wetness and sweat, but particles will still spawn. Just a heads up.
SkyTEST - iGimmicks will most likely conflict with any other mod that also tries to apply shaders at the same time on the player. But no, your game will not crash. The worst that can happen is that you wont get any shaders from either.
I am not 100% sure, but mods such as "Wet n Cold", "Frostfall" and any other similar ones have a chance of such conflicts.
looks great as usual! at the end of the first wet video i got all exited, i thought i saw steam coming off the guy. but it was just smoke from something behind him :(
ya think you could make a steam shader that comes off a person after they've gotten wet. swimming and/or rain?
I can try. No promises though, the rule is "No Scripts" and if i can't make the effect look Good Enough, then i probably won't add it. I'll give it a try none the less.
thank you Etayorius. that's all we can ask for. i remember the older Wet n Cold had a steam feature too.
by the way, sent ya a donation. Skytest is still one of my faves to this day! so much so, that i never even updated from 137e (i think that's the ver). it just always worked fine for me and still have it enabled today. and i love the wolf pack outside helgen. wouldn't be the same if they weren't there to greet me. thanks again!
LOL take a look, i think i did it... now all i need to do is tweak it and add the conditions. Look the chicken in the back lol. Obviously i will remove Animals and Creatures from this effect.

[Edit]
Dang, i think i hit a wall... i can reduce the number of particles and the size and leave it to one single particle, but i can't seem to force the particle to spawn in a specific spot. It spawns anywhere around him, like around the legs, behind him (looks like fart) in front him... and i want the particle to spawn around the area of his mouth to simulate a breath effect. :/
thanks. yeah i was hoping more for "steam off a hot body after a cold swim" kinda thing rather than breath. like these vids... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7N7sZHfj2w0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5c1p67It47A i used to work outside and people put off a lot of steam if they're hot, the weather's cold, and especially after a cold rain. the older Wet n Cold from like 2015 had a decent effect like that. steam came off the whole bod for a few seconds after leaving a swim.
edit; oops, just saw that the latest version has a steam effect. i'll give it a try now. oh and is there a console command, ini, or MCM way to turn off certain effects? i do have WnC that covers drips and snow
edit2; how do u get the steam to show? i got sweat drops from low stamina.
The effect is there but disabled. Does this steam shows in all the body or just in the head? i might be able to apply something like this. Are there any other mods that does this effect? so i can see how it looks. I guess i can try playing with the alphas and make those steam particles very dim, it might look like that.
[Edit[
I think i got it working, take a look:
The effect only kicks in while Swimming or Snowing. Activating the effect in rain seems to over do it. I wish Bethesda had implemented Body Temperature Conditions instead of just the Weathers, this way i could had applied all this effect in a wide range of Conditions. But Meh... Bethesda, can't really expect much from them. I also can't make the effect kick in after getting out of Swimming, only while Swimming and last for several seconds after that. Same reason i disabled the Water Drop particles while swimming. I like the effect, i just don't like the fact it kicks in while under water, can't fix that without scripts.
nice! the placement of the effect is pretty good. maybe a different shader tho, as these look a little like small individual puffs of breath rather than steam rising off the bod. i'm not finding many videos that show the effect, except the 2 i posted, but it's something i've seen all my life.
work or run outside and get hot, then a cold rain comes, it'll happen. be in a hot tub in a cold mountain clime and get out (that's more drastic because of the extreme hot water). swim in cold water and get out into warmer weather (like much of skyrim). the steam will come from anywhere on the body where the hot has contacted the cold. so it can even rise off the belly or legs but since the steam rises, the effect mainly looks like it's coming off the head and especially shoulders. Wet and Cold did it pretty well in the older versions. the latest ones he streamlined the mod, and took out steam, snowshoes, umbrellas, heat detection ect. really slimmed it down. i think i have an older version that has the effect. ver 1.422 maybe, if you want it.
edit; oh and any way to turn off individual effects?
You can easily disable each effect in the CK or SSEEdit by going to the Quest and removing the Alias for each effect. I will try other Textures and see if anyone fits.
On your description page, at the bottom, you have a set of links to your other mods. The link to "SkyTEST - Realistic animals and predators" is broken. All the other links work.
Looks gorgeous. Does the rain/snow shader stay on while entering an interior? Would be sooo immersive to enter an inn in a blizzard and see how snow particles slowly melt down... + steam <3
They sort of does, but depending on the transition between on/off it might be noticeable. Rain and Sweat drops is notieceable for a few seconds after the effect start fading away, same for the FrostySnow Particles but you need to pay close attention.
Would this technique work for adding a damp/wet glossy effect to statics/environment stuff, nothing more then an all over overlay that makes everything look abit darker and shiny
Or is this only an actor sort of thing I understand the no script thing just wondering if there is something simple that could be done to do a wet ground effect
With oldrim we could do custom weather to make everything high specular during rain but we cant do that so far with se's enb
Actor only, but i am currently trying to figure out a way to apply to basically this effect to every object. Not sure if it's possible but i am looking into it.
Cool hopefully there is away The game has a decal system for scorching the ground when you cast fire on it or frost ect Maybe large scale decals could be used or it could look awful lol
Hi, EtaYorius! Thank you for your creation! You are a genius ;) Endorsed and Kudos for you! Can please help those users who use a ENB? I getting too bright (non-transparent) wet effect during the rain when ENB is active
Spoiler:
Show
I just need to know what parameter is affecting the transparency in TESEdit under the _WetShaderRainFXS section, so that I be able to make it more transparent by changing the appropriate value in an empirical way.
Sure hold on, let me see what is the name of the setting, brb.
[Edit]
Ok, go to EffectShader and look for the WetShaders. There should be an option called "Full Alpha Ratio [1.0]" and "Persistent Alpha Ratio [1,0]". So try "0.30" or lower.
Thank you very much!!! Cool! Well, maybe you should make some tip on your mod page or a sticky post for those who using ENB. I think its impossible to please all tastes, so a small manual will be useful for people who use different ENB's.
Hello again, etayorius! I managed to adjust the swimming and rain wet effects so they become more transparent, as I wanted. Again thanks for a tip! Sorry for bothering you again, but unfortunately, I faced an issue which forces me to return to a Get Snowy mod:
Spoiler:
Show
the snow and cold breathing effects are not appearing at all. - i disabled all other mods I have and loaded pure clean vanilla saved game - I fast traveled over certain locations - also tried to change weather using the console commands - I even downloaded the ScriptDragon and ZAutoExec tool to be able to switch the weather by a PgUp/PgDn key... - I switched ENB ON and OFF by a Shift+F12 key but the result still the same. It seems that a _BreathSteamShaderFXS_TEST and _FrostyShaderSnowFXS shaders is never appearing during cold weather and in a cold regions too.
Is I am the one who have such issue? As I said, I'm not getting cold shaders as on whole mod set and on a vanilla game without any mods. Is there any solution?
The effects for Frost only applies when is Specifically snowing. I other words, if you're in snowy area the effect will not kick in unless it's snowing. Regarding the Breath effect... it's currently a TEST, it should not be working on current version. I am looking at ways to apply this effect in a more realistic way. Unless you meant the effect is not kicking at all? try using this console commans:
fw c8221
If the Forst Shader Effect is not kicking in, they there might be something else at play.
[Edit[
I just did a quick Test and the shaders seem to be working fine on my end.
Steam breathing is in testing currently - OK, I got it Would you please allow me to describe the issues more, maybe it helps to improve this wonderful mod: As for snowy problem - it still persists even after I enter a command "fw c8221" - no snowy shader on PC and NPCs at all, no matter with or without ENB. Also I noticed another problem even on a vanilla Skyrim without other mods
Spoiler:
Show
When I come out of interior to outdoors during rain, my PC and all NPCs around have too bright wet shader effect, despite that I adjusted it to be almost fully transparent in TESEdit
Spoiler:
Show
Well, I just like it to be almost invisible and it works fine, but every time when outdoor cell loads after indoors I getting this bright shader effect for around 5 seconds, and then shader dimes as I wanted. Here, I recorded video with these two issues (YouTube): - on first half of a video you will see how the rain wet effect become too bright when PC comes out of tavern and under the rain the rain wet shader effect slowly dimes to my adjusted value, which is quite uncomfortable to see. - on a secon half of the video you can see that there is Specifically snowing and I don't see any snowy shader effect - not on my PC, not on NPCs.
I think you set "Full Alpha Ratio" waaay too high. Take a closer look (0.890000). While "Persistent Alpha Ratio" seems to be ok (0.089000) i think your Wet issues lie there, since both Settings should have similar values. Regarding Frosty Snow Shader i will take another look, i might have screwed something up... since i am working on several versions of the mod at the same time for Skyrim, SkyrimSE and Fallout4.
"Full Alpha Ratio" is used when the Shader get's it's max Brightness while "Presistent Alpha Ratio" is used when the Effect is "Fading" away, so if you set "Presistent Alpha" Higher than "Full Alpha" then the effect will set a higher brightness when it's about to fade away.because you set it to a higher value. "Full Alpha" should be set as your Max, while "Presistent Alpha" should be set equal or lower to simulate the effect fading away. "Alpha Fade Out Time" is used to tell how long will the effect (In Seconds) will be displayed when is Fading away.
[Edit]
Everything seems to be working fine on my end with Frosty Shader. Try downloading the mod again from the files section. Install and start a new game with only this mod enabled. Maybe you changed something of that shader. Otherwise I am not sure what could your issue be, but it might be related to your enb? You can try raising both Full Alpha and Presistent Alpha Values of the FrostyShader just in case.
Thank you, etayorius, for answering me and helping to investigate my issue. Your mod is really wonderful, it can save a lot of script latency time for papyrus, because players who not using the Frostfall or other survival mods can disable both Wet&Cold and Get Snowy mods. Thanks for your detailed tips about Alpha values - I finally managed to make wet rain effect as I wanted! Also I tried all your suggestions about the frosty shader and here is my results:
Spoiler:

I disabled all mods and deleted ENB. I have SSE too so I downloaded and installed your mod for SSE. Started new game. Activated a show storm weather via console (fw c8221). 1. Vanilla Oldrim no ENB, and I don't changed your mod - snowy effect does not appear. 2. Vanilla SSE no ENB, and I don't changed your mod - snowy effect does not appear. 3. I raised Presistent Alpha Values of the FrostyShader up to 1.0 - snowy effect does not appear.
Spoiler:

Considering that I'm not getting this shader at all, I think that my problem is related to video card (GeForce 1080Ti), video driver or windows 10 64 bit. I understand that while someone else does not confirm the issue with snowy shader there is no reason to think that your mod is not working on other rigs. So I will wait until someone test it as I did. And of course I will track your mod to get all updates and maybe it will be fixed someday. So currently, unfortunately, I have to enable Get Snowy mod to have a snow shader effect and cold breathing.
I endorsed your mod for SSE too! Best Regards and good luck!
Good question ! also is it possible to have them separately to be able to choose one or another or via a MCM menu to (de)activate them ? Good job anyway!
