Thief in the (K)night
A story-driven, treasure hunt-style quest mod.
How to start your journey:
- Upon loading your game for the first time with the mod installed, a courier will approach you and deliver a mysterious letter. Follow the instructions on the letter to proceed the quest.
Requirements:
- Dawnguard
Compatibility:
- Incompatible:
Provincial Courier Service
There have been a couple of people who have not been able to start the quest due to the courier not appearing. This is due to conflicts with other mods that alter the courier system or the WICourier quest. If you experience these issues, consider turning off those mods for the duration of this quest. The mod has been tested countless times and the courier works fine if you don't have any mods installed that modify the vanilla courier system.

Courier workaround:
If the courier does not deliver the letter, there is a small workaround you can use to advance the quest.
Enter the console and type the following line:
setstage TITK 20
This will skip the courier sequence and lead you directly to the next quest objective. Here's the letter the courier would've delivered to you:

Recommendations:
- Throughout the journey you will find special materials that are labeled as such. My advice is not to sell or drop them. Because of limits to Creation Kit functionality I was unable to label them as Quest Objects. If you do decide to sell or drop these items, the quest will continue to work, but one of the two endings will not be available to you.
- There are two variants of this mod. The only difference exists in the removal of quest markers for the more immersive version, which I recommend over the standard version.
- I recommend not to fast travel during the quest, just for immersion reasons.
Thank you for any and all endorsements. Constructive feedback is greatly appreciated. Since this is my first mod, I've had to learn a lot of scripting and other necessities through online tutorials. Therefore I would like to thank everybody who contributed to the community by making explanatory videos and guides. Special thanks go to Darkfox127, whose brilliant tutorials on YouTube greatly helped me out.
