About this mod

This mod adds one item to the game. An amulet that belonged to a Dunmer during the time of TES V: Skyrim. It has some magic effects that make it quite powerful. The mod works perfectly with both male and female character models.

Valaai Family Heirloom - A Dunmer Amulet Mod

Lore

This mod adds a single item to the game. A powerful amulet made of the shell of an Emperor Crab, exterminated in honorable battle by Great House Redoran millenia ago. The founder of House Selothan, House that proudly fights under the banner of the Lorkhanic scarab, picked up and carved a piece of the shell of a dead Crab; with that he made a pendant and said:

"Behold, this piece of bone is a symbol of the greatness of Brerama Selothan and will be a herald of the greatness of House Selothan for millenia to come."

The amulet carries the banner of Great House Redoran on the front, and under it the original inscription of the name of the House, written by Brerama himself after the battle. On the back of the piece the motto of Selothan is engraved. It says:

Comfort is given, Justice is taken.

It also has the engraving mark of the Tribunal Temple, meaning that the House is formed under the approval and good faith of Almsivi.

Info

The amulet fits both male and female characters

As for ownership the game detects the amulet as being yours, you can freely enter the Temple and get it and the priests won't tell you anything. It will never appear as stolen.

The Amulet has the following stats:

Weight: 0.5

Value:1200

Enchantment: One-Handed attacks do 15% more damage.
Destruction spells cost 10% less to cast.
Increases Heavy Armor skill by 5 points.
                         Stamina regenerates 10% faster.

This stats where created with a load order with many mods in mind. The objective was to create an item that fitted lore-wise a Redoran warrior and that also was useful in-game. It might be too powerful for other load orders, if you wish to tone it down a little you can do so with the Creation Kit quite easily. I have created a new enchantment that you can get by destroying the item in an Enchanting table too. Inside the Creation Kit you'll find it by tiping EnchValaai in the Search bar.

Where to find it

The amulet can be found at Raven Rock at the Temple of the Reclamations. It is gently placed at the feet of the shrine of Azura by his mysterious last owner, the last true heir of House Selothan. (see the last image on the images tab for visual reference if you are having a hard time finding it)

The item can still be found by using the command console if you want to use it from the start of the game as I did. To do so just:

·1: Open de command console by pressing ~ (or the key above Tab)

·2: Write "help valaai" to get the code of your item

·3: Some text will appear and you need to find for a line similar to this one (it will be different in your case)

               ARMO: (4E000D62) 'Valaai Family Heirloom'

·4: With the code in parenthesis you can get the item, use the command to add items to your inventory.

              player.additem 4E000D62 1

(Remember to substitute the long code by your own. The last number is the ammount of amulets you want, I chose 1)

Compatibility

If you have the mod Amulets of Skyrim installed you need to make sure to install Valaai Heirloom after it. If you don't do so the amulet won't have the proper textures and it will be impossible to find it in its location. This is due to the texture paths remaining unchanged from the original nif files I used from the mod.
(If further ahead I have the time I'll make sure to fix this small incompatibility)

Thanks

This mod is fundamentally a texture modification of the Redoran Guard Amulet from the mod "Amulets of Skyrim". Thanks so much to the author for allowing the use of his assets. I encourage you to check out that mod and any other of UNI00SL uploads. They are great.
