Brynn's Cottage

"After the untimely death of her husband, Throki, Brynn has packed up in a hurry and left her cottage just outside Riverwood to live in Cyrodil with her children. Wanting only to put the past behind her, she leaves the cottage to whoever will fill it with joy once more."

This cottage is found in a bit of disarray, as Brynn has received the news of her husband's demise and left within the course of only a few hours. Two notes, one an Imperial letter of condolences, the other a scrawled goodbye, detail the events leading up to the cottage being abandoned.

***
The cottage is within view of Riverwood, with a bridge across the river for ease of access. When the Dragonborn is making their way to Riverwood from Helgen, the bridge is just before Riverwood's walls and is already accessible from the beginning of the game.

It features 4 children's beds and chests for those of us who feel bad for the homeless kids but have every confidence in Constance Michel's ability to run the orphanage.

The cottage is basically an extension of Drelas's Cottage. Indoors, it has 2 storeys and a basement, an alchemy station and an enchanting table, several chests and various clutter items and books. Outside, it has three children's training dummies, a grindstone, smelter, armorer's workbench and anvil.

Not the most flashy player house, but good for those looking to have a modest, lore-friendly, "realistic" home for their Dragonborn's family.

Installation

Install the .esp as usual with NMM or similar.

Mac Wineskin

1. Place the .esp in your Skyrim Data folder (Desktop--> Skyrim "Show Package Contents" --> drive_c/Program Files/The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim/Data).
2. Copy the .esp and paste into your plugins.txt file (Desktop--> Skyrim "Show Package Contents" --> drive_c/users/Wineskin/Local Settings/Application Data/Skyrim --> open "plugins.txt" with TextWrangler or similar).
3. Make sure it's listed AFTER your Hearthfire DLC.

Non-Steam Installation (Script Extender or similar)

Place the .esp file in your Pragram Files/Steam/steamapps/common/Skyrim/Data file and make sure it's ticked in your Data Files. Make sure it's after Hearthfire in the load order.

Known Bugs

In Mac Wineskin, the two notes are not always on the alchemy station, but might be on the floor near the front door. Also in the Mac Wineskin version, the kids sometimes seem like they can't/won't go outside, and telling them to go play outside results in them vanishing for a few in-game hours. I'm working on it, but let me know if that happens to you on Windows as well.
