About this mod

Have you ever met Pumpkin? Then you probably know how it feels to discover that this adorable creature was only meant to follow you in one location. This mod was made to change this little inconvenience.

Description:

Pumpkin is a unique pet fox in the Southfringe Sanctum. Pumpkin appears to be a pet of one fo the Spellswords, who found their refuge in the cave. Should you open the cage and the fox will follow you around, regardless of whether he became your follower or not. To make Pumpkin your follower simply talk to him.

Pumpkin has the same pack of commands as usual animal followers do. However, as you will discover later on, he is no usual fox and will help you even in battle against a dragon. I made him essential and increased his stats, so don't worry about getting him killed right away.


Instalation:

Use NMM or simply drop whatever is in the archive to your Skyrim folder.


Stats for nerds:

  • Starting health: 50. Health regeneration: 15/per sec. Allowed health regeneration in combat.
  • Starting stamina 60. Stamina regeneration: 15/per sec.
  • Modified sneak by 40 points compared to usual foxes' 15. (Though he wouldn't have effected player's detection anyways)
  • Modified damage, so he is at least a little useful in combat. (12 compared to usual dog companions' 8)
  • If you ever manage to kill him (why in the world), Pumpkin will not respawn as he is a unique character.
  • Carry weight: 50. (I honestly don't know why did I add this one in the first place)
  • Pumpkin will level up with the player from level 1 up to level 60. However his level is always half that of the player.
  • Just so you know, I had to remove the original necromancer faction to avoid agression in towns and cities or non-hostility to your enemies.
  • Added a sandbox so Pumpkin can wander around and lay down near the player. (May or may not work)

Why? Beacuse why the hell not!

Issues:

  • Sometimes you might need to tell Pumpkin to wait and then to follow you before he actually starts following.
  • Though I tried really hard to put him in the right spot, Pumpkin seems to (sometimes) spawn near the cage, rather than in it. For Southfringe following script to work you should still open the cage. To make Pumpkin a follower you dont need to open the cage.
  • You must install the mod, while your player is not inside the Southfringe Sanctum. (Ideally, before you have ever entered the location.)
  • If you can't click on a dialogue, try save/reload or reloading your computer - it may be caused by low RAM.
  • Always install the newest version.


Changelog:

1.0: Initial release.
1.1: Cleaned file. Now it's possible to set a home for Pumpkin if you have a house and at least one adopted child. (Needs testing, requires Hearthfire DLC)
1.2: Fixed Pumpkin not reacting in english 1.1 version.


Conclusion:

Overall this mod is pretty basic, but feel free to inform me if you ever find a bug. Reviews and comments are really appreciated as well as comments on balancing (or overpowering) Pumpkin.
