Donated, hope it helps a bit. There's nothing worse than not having safe secure housing.

You're welcome. I've been on the verge of homelessness myself in the past, and the generosity of others was so essential. I wish I could do more...

Whatever it is that is putting you in this spot, I wish you the best of luck. My oldest sister-in-law left her abusive husband who had cut her off from family and friends, and she ended up stuck several states away from us (because she couldn't even take her car) in a shelter with nothing but the clothes on her back. She's doing well now luckily, but it still gets me when I hear of tough situations (of whatever nature) that move people around with far too many question marks in the future. I've never been one to give any false silver linings or try to make light of a situation, but when stuff sucks I do repeat to myself "whatever this is, it too will pass."

Agreed, what will be, will be. It's up to me to pull out of the tunnel alive, right?

When I was younger I'd have dreams of changing the world, but the dreams we were raised to aspire assume a static world where effort always equates to a measured outcome and doesn't account for "s*** happens". As I got a little older and wiser I decided that if I couldn't change the world and make it a better place with all the opportunities I'd expected then I'd settle for just changing those around me so that I can find strength that way, but frankly people are tough to change and I'm more comfortable with a small circle. Many are no better off than I, unfortunately. Nowadays, I know I can only work on myself with any degree of control.
If I'm in a situation because life gave me lemons until I'm buried over my head I'll of course start digging my way out no matter if the lemons are still falling. I have no control over the rain, and I can only dig my way out so fast, but at the very least I'm going to center myself as I go and focus on that shovel rather than everything else falling around me.
Anyway, words words words. Hopefully, some are good, all are meant with warmth.

I hope everything turns out alright. I wish there something community could do. If there is, you should let us know if you can. Maybe there's a family member or a friend we could help you reach so you have a safe place to go to and finally get out of those fires? I'm sure plenty of people would be willing to do anything to help you out. I have no idea how this shelter works or any women's shelter for that matter, but i really hope they're designed to get you back on your feet if you don't have any decent people you know personally to help you out.

Trust me I've exhausted all of my "phone a friend" cards, and the last two I called got me into my current mess. Bit jaded now...

      And yeah, here's hoping.

If you live in the United States, you can contact your local Vocational Rehab center. They will help you find a place and a job in that location and even help you financially as you settle in. They'll even move you to a different state if needed. I have a family friend who was moved all the way across the country from the east coast to the west coast where she had her own apartment and job waiting for her. Vocational Rehab will even give you free training like resume classes, interview classes, they'll help pay for college and medical needs as well.

Seriously, they will help you if you're in a tight spot. They'll work with you for years if needed. The Shelter will address your safety, but Voc Rehab can take care of everything else. You just tell them what you need/want and they'll find a way to do it. If you want to move to a certain state and get a job there, you can apparently do that.

if you were somewhere near i would have try to help not be that position but the likely hood of that happening is highly unlikely. Iv'e known tomany people in your position or a similar one and i've only been able to help two. I don't like knowing that there could be some way to help not be able to. and i live in the states by the way. if you do as well to then there could be better options the what you have mentioned?
