Lirimaer watched as her village went up in flames and her family laid dead on the ground amongst the other villagers after one of the Thalmor secretive purges in Valenwood. Cunning and skill with the help of Maru are what kept her alive at that very moment. She vanished into the wilderness, becoming a rather enigmatic figure that would only come out of her hermitage to help others escape purges whenever they occurred. Lirimaer would have Maru lead whoever to safety while she took take of covering the tracks behind them. As time went on, people started to believe Lirimaer and Maru were the same entity.
