About this mod
This mod adds a new crossbow and bolt type suited for poison users. They both do zero damage, with their sole purpose being poison delivery.
- Requirements
- Permissions and credits
I spent a lot of time searching the nexus for something that would fit my weakling alchemist characters, but I couldn't find any mods that I felt fit the bill.
I had trouble sleeping one night so I decided to make one.
Optional
There is now an optional painless version that doesn't cause hostility or break stealth.
-Use this version if you don't like some of the balance in the other one, or you only want to use it to kill.-
Stats
The Light Needle Bow is a new item, crafted at a forge from 2 Firewood and 2 Steel Ingots.
The Needle Bolts are also crafted (in batches of 15) at a forge from 1 Firewood and 1 Steel Ingot.
The bow deals 0 (technically 0.001, to maintain hostility) damage and has a weight of 5.
The bolts also deal 0 damage, are less affected by gravity than normal bolts, and travel much faster.
They also penetrate much deeper, so they won't be floating off of the target like vanilla bolts.
Misc.
- Both the bow and the bolts are found under the miscellaneous category of the forge-
( I didn't want to make it require perks, so that it could still be used by people who avoid leveling crafting skills)
-The bow uses a bow firing sound rather than a crossbow firing sound, so that is sounds both weaker and more stealthy-
(This was mostly because I felt the vanilla crossbow sounds loud and clunky)
-Attacking NPCs counts as assault just like normal weapons, so stay hidden if you don't want a bounty-
(See Option Files for the Non-Hostile version)
-A clever alchemist can use it for more than harm-
(Your followers will be the only ones who will take this form of help. NPCs don't like being shot at!)
-Another fun interaction: NPCs under the effects of paralysis can be pickpocketed of all their items with no chance of failure-
-If you find any other interesting ingredient combos share them in the comments!-
Requirements
-An up to date Skyrim installation-
-Dawnguard-
-Dragonborn-
